Das Atelierhaus Mengerzeile wurde am 1.Juli 1993 im 1908 errichteten Fabrikgebäude der Mengerzeile 1-3 in Berlin - Treptow gegründet. aus 38 internationalen Kreativen, Künstlerinnen und Künstlern, die im Atelierhaus arbeiten. Ziel des Vereins ist neben dem Erhalt bezahlbarer Ateliers die Förderung von Kunst und kultureller Infrastruktur kommunal sowie landesweit und der nationale und international

e Künstleraustausch. Das 1994 im Haus eingerichtete Gastatelier und der seit 2001 regelmäßige Ausstellungsbetrieb in der hauseigenen Kunsthalle M3 gehören daher zum wichtigen Bestand des Atelierhauses Mengerzeile, ebenso wie die Präsentation der KünstlerInnen mit ihren Arbeiten im Rahmen der Hausausstellungen "Housesalon" sowie der "Offenen Ateliers".

Wir freuen uns auf unsere nächste Ausstellung, FRAUEN MACHEN DRUCK/Frauen porträtieren Frauen ", im Kunstraum m3 . Im Projekt „Frauen porträtieren Frauen“ begegnen sich Frauen – die meisten mit migrantischer Biografie – und fertigen Drucke in der Linolschnitt-Technik an. Inspiriert von Audre Lorde wird diese Praxis als politischer Akt verstanden: als bewusster Blick auf die anderen und als Möglichkeit, sich in ihr wiederzuerkennen.

Ziel des Projekts ist es, migrantische und weibliche Positionen sichtbar zu machen, künstlerische Selbstermächtigung zu fördern und Vernetzung untereinander zu stärken. Inzwischen haben sich auch Frauen aus Belgien, Brasilien, Frankreich, Mexiko und Ägypten beteiligt; teilweise fanden die Treffen und das gemeinsame Zeichnen online statt.

In the project „Frauen porträtieren Frauen“ women – most of them with migrant biographies – come together and create prints using the linocut technique. Inspired by Audre Lorde, this practice is understood as a political act: as a conscious way of looking at others and as an opportunity to recognize oneself in them.

The aim of the project is to make migrant and female perspectives visible, to promote artistic self-empowerment, and to strengthen networks among participants. Women from Belgium, Brazil, France, Mexico, and Egypt have since taken part; some of the meetings and collaborative drawing sessions were held online.

Temporäres Gästeatelier zu vermieten - Atelierhaus Mengerzeile

Mengerzeile 1–3, Alt-Treptow, Berlin

Im Atelierhaus Mengerzeile in Alt-Treptow steht ein helles Gästeatelier zur vorübergehenden Miete zur Verfügung. Das Atelier ist ausschließlich als Arbeitsraum für bildende Kunst gedacht und nicht zum Wohnen geeignet.

Die Fläche beträgt ca. 25 m², befindet sich im zweiten Stock und verfügt über zwei große Fenster mit hervorragendem Tageslicht. Es verfügt über ein eigenes Waschbecken und einen Internetanschluss. Bitte beachten Sie, dass das Atelier nur über Treppen erreichbar ist (kein Aufzug).

Miete

375 € / Monat
25€ Zuschlag für Strom, Internet und Gemeinschaftsräume

Kaution

400 € rückzahlbare Kaution

Die Schlüssel werden nach Erhalt der ersten Monatsmiete und der Kaution übergeben.

We cordially invite you this Saturday, 08.12.2025, to the opening of Ilkka Sariola and Jussi Pyky at Kunstraum m3. Both artists live and work in Helsinki, Finland and are members of the Toolbox artist cooperative This exhibition is part of an exchange between the Toolbox and Kunstraum m3 project spaces. - Ausgang ll. Everyday definition of the word exit, "Ausgang" is "an act of leaving a place".
The word exit also has deeper philosophical connotations. "Exitus" comes from latin and means ending, end or death. Our final exit is moving from on state to another, from life to death. The N***s used the term with cruel irony, calling the the exit gate "Ausgang Z" There is also a desperate search for away out, exit, of the protracted wars in Ukraine and Gaza. Metaphora "exit" leads the viewer to confront sad endings in my expressive coal drawings.

Dark Sun. During the summer months, I spent time on the outskirts of the city, drawing.
I visited palces places that seemed insignificant - yet I lingered, not knowing why.
In early summer, when the ground was cool and the air warm, I stayed by a reed-filled shore, where nearly bare alder branches traced fractal patterns against the spring sky.
In midsummer, with both ground and air warm, I settled in a chaotic birch grove, dense with greenery and flooded with sunlight.
In late summer, when the ground was still warm but the air had turned cool, I lingered in the damp dusk beneath a forest of tall spruces, where small, stunted spruces formed a withering forest of their own.
In these places, I spent days - sitting and drawing.
Gradually these places began to feel meaningful.
Were they reflecting my inner world or was I projecting the contents of my mind onto them?

Katya presents a body of work developed during an international residency project in 2024 at the Amparo Puebla Museum in Mexico, where the series was first exhibited.

𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗮
This exhibition is the reconstruction of an intimate space and a living dialogue with a non-human entity: the Popocatépetl volcano. The memories and concerns of the artist herself and of the people who live in the areas around the volcano, including the tiemperos (people in charge of talking to the volcano on behalf of their people), are narrated in a voice-over, almost in the form of a whisper. A polyphony expressed in the first person and in the present tense where the search to capture the vibrations of the volcano, the observation of the body as a territory of exchange and the exploration of orality as a sensitive memory are the guiding thread of this dialogue proposed as an accumulation of living forces.

On Saturday, September 20, 2025, starting at 2 PM, Atelierhaus Mengerzeile in Alt-Treptow will once again open its studios to the public, offering a glimpse into the artistic work happening inside. We warmly invite everyone to join us and look forward to exchanging ideas with friends, long-time companions, art enthusiasts, and both new and old neighbours.

There will be coffee and homemade cake, a Peruvian food truck (.demama) serving delicious empanadas, ceviche, pisco sours, and other drinks. In the evening, we’ll wind down the day together around the campfire with music.

At the KUNSTRAUM m3, the exhibition “Being Volcana” by Katya Morra (MEX/GB) will be on view (4 — 9 p.m.).

Let’s come together in large numbers and send a strong signal for diversity and tolerance!
We look forward to seeing you!
