Ursula Neugebauer and Timm Ulrichs: DAS ZEITLICHE SEGNEN
As the small survey exhibition DAS ZEITLICHE SEGNEN at the White Cube of the Sammlung von Foerster Außenstelle Britz draws to a close—having opened with a soirée during the Britz Rauhnächte—artists Ursula Neugebauer and Timm Ulrichs will once again be present to share additional insights into their work in an intimate salon setting.
Ursula Neugebauer will present and discuss her video work Das größte Glück, welches vorstellbar ist. Brief an Grigori Perelman (2010). From the accompanying text: "Das größte Glück, welches vorstellbar ist is dedicated to mathematician Grigori Perelman, who succeeded in proving the centuries-old Poincaré Conjecture and made his result freely available online. He declined all subsequent honors—including the Fields Medal and the Clay Mathematics Institute prize money. Perelman now lives reclusively with his mother in a prefabricated housing block in St. Petersburg and refuses all interviews. Deeply impressed by his selflessness in the face of power and money, I wrote Grigori Perelman a letter that remains unanswered to this day."
Timm Ulrichs will read from the report of the private detective he hired in 1971 to shadow himself for a day in Frankfurt.
Christian Y. Schmidt will round out the evening with an interview with Timm Ulrichs from Kenneth Hujer’s book All That Happened in That Insane Frankfurt Milieu (Ventil Verlag), which highlights Ulrichs’ actions and happenings within the experimental Frankfurt art scene of the 1960s and ’70s.
