Salesforce Child’s () work speaks in an idiosyncratic yet immediately recognizable blend of corporate and devotional language across painting, video, performance, writing, drawing, and social media The work reflects the semiotic chaos of contemporary systems, imbued with the sense that what we have built is leaving us behind.
On a dark wall, screenshots extend to the sky like an infinite scroll: The Teachings of Salesforce Child, a messianic figure voicing the implicit logics of the capitalist machine. Prophet, extradimensional visitor, charismatic leader, she smiles at us before a sunset like a demonic LinkedIn profile picture, addressing her followers, whom she affectionately calls her children.
The Children of Salesforce is speculative fiction set in 4024, written by scientists who have excavated Salesforce Child’s teachings from the 2020s, describing our era as the Plastic Age, toxic and brittle heir to the Iron, Bronze, and Stone.
Down a steep staircase into the cellar, Wellness is not possible is hazily projected above a deep hole in the earth. Disembodied AI voices and spectral TikToks shimmer through the trees. Something essential has been lost, what remains is a desperate longing to merge with indifferent corporations and influencers, culminating in a pietà scene with Mr. Beast.
