Advertising images, media fragments and commercial visuals are central to 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗩𝗮𝗵𝗹𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗱’𝘀 practice. His works are part of our current exhibition FRAGMENTED REALITIES.
Through layers of overpainting, printing and digital intervention, he transforms existing imagery into shifting compositions where surface and content constantly overlap. His work reflects on how contemporary visual culture is constructed, blurring the boundaries between reproduction, abstraction, and painterly gesture.

German artist 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐨 captures fleeting moments of contemporary urban life through scenes of observation and distraction. His works are part of our current exhibition 𝗙𝗥𝗔𝗚𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗘𝗦.
In this pieces, the contrast of figures and monumental advertising creates a subtle tension between reality and constructed image. Through layered compositions and cinematic framing, his paintings explore how contemporary life is constantly filtered through visual culture and memory.

𝗪𝗲𝗻𝗻 𝗥𝗮̈𝘂𝗺𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗻 𝘇𝘂 𝘄𝗶𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗻.
86 Gäste. Gespräche. Musik. Bewegung.

In Gaby Terhuven’s work, color and line interact to create layered fields of light and perception. Her pieces are part of our upcoming exhibition FRAGMENTED REALITIES.

Each work consists of two glass panels set slightly apart from one another, with both surfaces painted in oil on the front and reverse sides. Vertical bands and geometric fragments overlap and intersect, forming compositions that shift subtly with movement and changing viewpoints.
In multi-part works, individual panels come together to create larger visual fields, where transparency and spatial depth remain in continuous dialogue.

FRAGMENTED REALITIES

We are pleased to invite you to the opening of our upcoming exhibition FRAGMENTED REALITIES on May 9 – a curated constellation of five artistic positions exploring perception, visual spaces and the fragmented nature of contemporary urban reality.

As a first behind-the-scenes glimpse, works have already arrived from Berlin and are currently being installed in the gallery. Some of Detlef Waschkau’s works are still concealed behind their protective packaging, offering only a partial view of what is to come. His practice centers on wood reliefs, where carved surfaces and carefully applied pigments create a subtle interplay between material, colour and depth.

As part of the upcoming exhibition, the front space of the gallery will bring together works by Gaby Terhuven, Peter Vahlefeld, Detlef Waschkau and Daniel Wöllenstein. These positions unfold a dynamic field between structure, reduction and layered imagery. The back space features large-scale works by Christopher Corso, whose compositions merge urban impressions and media fragments into immersive visual environments.

Official Opening – Vernissage

Exclusive insights behind the scenes: we offer a closer look at how an artwork finds its place in a private home and becomes part of everyday living.
A work by Iranian artist Mahssa Askari from her series 𝘗𝘴𝘺𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘤 𝘎𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘯 is now installed in a collector’s residence.

Soft transitions of color, subtle textures and layered light create a quiet presence that transforms the atmosphere of a room. The work brings depth, calm and a refined sense of harmony into the interior.
Now part of a private collection, the piece unfolds its presence in an intimate, lived-in setting.

In Nozomi Hasegawa’s works, color and form meet and unfold, shifting between abstraction and composition.
Originally from Japan, she is currently part of our exhibition TRIBUTE.

Loose, gestural brushstrokes hint at fragments of landscape without becoming a fixed image.
Her paintings balance control and openness. They are composed while staying in process, with layers that continue to shift.

Frank Kenis creates works that feel like moments suspended in time, currently on view in our exhibition TRIBUTE.

In his art works figures emerge and dissolve between presence and memory, surrounded by fluid layers that ripple and blur.
His paintings move like water, soft yet powerful and intimate.
Drawing from architectural influences, his works evoke a quiet strength, where balance feels fluid and in motion.

…From his studio in India to our gallery in Düsseldorf…

Bruno Kurz lives and works in Karlsruhe, creating pieces that go far beyond painting.
He can still be seen in our current exhibition TRIBUTE.

His works explore light, color, and space — layer by layer, luminous worlds emerge.
Inspired by his travels, especially across Asia, his art carries a unique sense of calm and depth.
