We are delighted to announce Raquel Villar-Pérez as the first Curatorial Fellow of the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation. ✨📸

is a UK based scholar, writer, and curator whose work focuses on photography in relation to migration, transnational feminism, and questions of social and ecological justice. Working from decolonial and expanded photographic practices, she brings a strong research driven and international perspective to contemporary curatorial work.

As part of the two year Curatorial Fellowship, starting now, she will engage closely with the Art Collection Deutsche Börse. Her research will focus on identifying key narratives and thematic focal points within the collection, leading to the development of a detailed exhibition concept. Furthermore, she will propose new artistic positions, contributing to the ongoing expansion and diversification of the collection.

The Fellowship will culminate in a jointly curated exhibition in 2028 at our premises in Eschborn, followed by a presentation at another photography institution in Europe.

The guest professorship at the Dresden University of Fine Arts is back for a second round!

Together the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation, the Dresden University of Fine Arts and Portraits Hellerau e.V. are continuing the international guest professorship for photography. And we are excited to announce that the project-based workshop for master's students and advanced students will be led by Sim Chiyin Studio in the winter semester of 2025/2026. She will also be on the jury for the PORTRAITS - Hellerau Photography Award 2025.

This initiative is part of our comprehensive programme to support young photographers. Its goal is to expand artistic instruction in photography at HfBK Dresden and introduce students to the perspectives of renowned international photographers.

The renowned Singaporean artist Sim Chi Yin's research-based practice uses artistic and archival interventions to contest historiographies and colonial narratives and to reflect their complexity. She works across photography, film, installation, performance and book-making.

OPEN NOW ✨

The exhibition "Harry Gruyaert. A World in Colour" is now on view, celebrating the work of the Belgian photographer and pioneer of European colour photography. Comprising around 120 images from the 1970s to the early 2000s, the retrospective is the most extensive presentation of Gruyaert’s oeuvre in Germany to date.

He creates images with great precision, emphasising contrasts. While traveling to countries like Egypt, India, Morocco, the US, Russia, Spain or France, he discovered intense light and vibrant hues. These strong colours have become the central design element in 's work – a rather unusual approach in artistic photography in Europe during the 1970s and 80’s.

The exhibition is a cooperation between the and . It is on display until 25 January 2026 in The Cube in Eschborn/Frankfurt. You can see the show by booking a guided tour or visit on one of our "Open Saturdays“ without prior registration. For more information, check out our website.
