Forchheim präsentiert in 2024 Kunst seiner Partnerstädte. Ihr nehmt hier an der Organisation der Ausstellung teil. ünstler:innen und werdet Teil eines einmaligen, medialen Partnerstädteprojekts. "Zu Gast bei Künstler:innen" basiert auf dem artist-and-residence-Format "Kunst zu Gast" von 2014.


Forchheim on the way

If you want to create a multinational exhibition with the targets named above, you must find out how and where the artists work, so that visitors can relate to their works of art. That is why Christine Frick and Hartmut Altenpohl are going to visit the artists in their studios in their home towns, portraying their way of life and how they interact with their environment with the help of their cameras (Christine Frick: photography), Helmut Altenpohl: film). They want to meet the artists as spontaneously as possible and accompany the process of their creative work for a day, also interviewing them on the way. The films and photos are to help visitors of the exhibition in Forchheim to understand and grasp the worlds the various artists live in. The two media will help visitors to understand the creation of art, with the photos as a basis for print media documenting particular moments in this process, while the films will give the visitors the chance to follow that process., At the same time they will be able to listen to the artists' ideas and explore their respective environments. Both media are to interact to create thorough and comprehensive portraits of the artists and the towns they live in. The questions will be: What impact did 'Kunst-zu-Gast' have on the artists? How have their home towns and their working environments changed over those ten years? How do you feel changing world views in the binational relationships Forchheim has to her sister cities? Each film is to start with a visit to an artists' studio. There Christine Frick and Helmut Altenpohl are going to talk to the artists about how their works of art and the topics that inspire them should be presented in the Pfalzmuseum. Thus the artists themselves will be contributing to the creation of a presentation full of moments of surprise.
