Helios, God of the Sun
A fabulous handmade ceramic bas-relief, painted with glazes and fired twice at 1000°C, built to last through sun, rain, wind, cold, and ice ❄️
This radiant sculpture represents Helios, god of the Sun, riding across the sky in his chariot. It’s a free interpretation of a metope once part of Athena’s temple in Ilium, dated to the 1st–2nd century B.C., now preserved at the Pergamonmuseum in Berlin 🏛️
A piece of sky mythology, captured in clay and fire.
