At Seven to Eight Gallery, we are drawn to Michael Moebius’ paintings for the way they bring elegance, presence, and unmistakable character into an interior.

His works carry the glamour of iconic figures, the control and precision of a highly skilled painter, and the wit of a visual idea that instantly shifts the image. They are bold without becoming loud, playful without losing sophistication, and immediately recognizable without feeling obvious.

Within a space, this balance gives his paintings a particular strength. They create a focal point with confidence and personality, while adding a sense of glamour, lightness, and contemporary edge. A Moebius work does not simply complete a room. It changes its rhythm.

For interiors that call for art with presence, attitude, and refinement, his paintings offer exactly that rare combination: iconic, elegant, and unmistakably contemporary.

Artist Spotlight: Michael Moebius

Born in Pirna, Germany, in 1968, Michael Moebius followed an artistic path that was anything but conventional. Growing up in former East Germany, where access to Western pop culture was limited, he developed an early passion for drawing and a fascination with the imagery of a world beyond his immediate surroundings. After a more pragmatic education in engineering and construction, his path gradually led him back to art.

After the fall of the Berlin Wall, Moebius moved to Los Angeles and entered a world where art, entertainment, and popular culture closely intersect. Supported early on by Hugh Hefner, who included Moebius’ Marilyn Bubblegum painting in his private collection, the artist soon attracted the attention of Hollywood collectors and became closely associated with a culture of glamour, icons, and visual mythology.

From there, Moebius developed the distinctive painterly language that would define his international career: a striking fusion of classic portraiture, pop culture, humor, and technical precision. His works reframe familiar figures from film, music, and cultural history with a distinctly contemporary attitude.

He is best known for his signature Bubblegum paintings, in which legendary icons are reimagined through one playful visual twist: a blown bubble. The result is instantly memorable, combining visual impact with precision, elegance, and control. Moebius turns cultural icons into images that feel both familiar and completely renewed.

His imagery has also moved beyond the canvas through selected collaborations and cultural projects, including “Legends Blowing Bubbles,” a porcelain collection developed in collaboration with MEISSEN, and large-scale interior concepts such as Toronto’s Q Tower. Today, his works are collected internationally by high-profile private collectors, cultural figures, and global brands, underscoring the reach of a visual language that has become unmistakably his own.

At Seven to Eight Gallery, we are drawn to Brendan Murphy’s work for the way it holds presence within an interior. Across canvas, sculpture, and reflective chrome surfaces, his works create a charged dialogue with light, architecture, and the material language of a space.

Their impact is immediate, yet never merely visual. Murphy’s symbols, formulas, and layered emotional codes introduce a psychological tension that reaches beyond the work itself. Rather than simply existing within a room, his works sharpen its atmosphere, intensify its presence, and give it a more distinct identity.

Artist Spotlight: Brendan Murphy

American artist Brendan Murphy works across painting and sculpture, developing a distinctive visual language that brings together abstract and figurative forms, handwritten formulas, universal symbols, and recurring iconography. At the core of his practice is an exploration of beauty, power, emotion, and the shared energies that shape human experience. (brendanmurphyart)

Murphy is especially known for his Boonji Spaceman series, a body of work that transforms the idea of stepping into the unknown into one of the most recognizable images in his practice. Across these works, polished surfaces and his signature handwritten formulas create a striking tension between visual impact and introspection. (brendanmurphyart)

His work is held in prominent private collections and public displays around the world, with collectors including Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic, Warren Buffett, Ryan Gosling, and Grant Cardone, among others.

What makes Murphy’s work resonate is its immediacy: it is visually bold at first glance, yet rooted in vulnerability, ambition, and the emotional codes that shape how we move through the world.

Our Gufram Collection:

Our collection currently features some of the most legendary pieces of Italian Radical Design.

The famous BOCCA® sofa by Studio 65, inspired by Salvador Dalí’s portrait of Mae West, stands as a bold symbol of surrealist pop culture and design history.

The green CACTUS®, designed by Guido Drocco and Franco Mello in 1972, reimagines an everyday object as a playful sculptural statement.

The contemporary BROKEN BENCH, created in collaboration with the New York studio Snarkitecture, explores radical design through the expressive possibilities of polyurethane.

Completing the collection are the GUFRAMINI miniatures of BOCCA® and CACTUS®, beautifully detailed 1:8 scale versions of these legendary designs.

Radical design, Italian craftsmanship, and collectible design icons.

Gufram pieces are not simply furniture, they are collectible design objects that transform a space into a statement. Created at the intersection of art, design, and experimentation, Gufram furniture introduce sculptural forms and unexpected materials into everyday environments. Their distinctive aesthetic turns functional objects into expressive works that shape the atmosphere of a room.

From bold seating to playful sculptural elements, each piece is designed to interact with its surroundings and become a focal point within an interior. Vibrant colors, unconventional silhouettes, and soft polyurethane constructions allow Gufram to achieve forms that would be impossible with traditional furniture materials.

Placed in contemporary homes, galleries, or hospitality spaces, Gufram designs bring personality, humor, and a strong visual identity into the interior. They represent a unique approach to living with design, where furniture becomes both a functional object and a conversation-starting work of art.

GUFRAM

Founded in Turin, Italy in 1966, Gufram is one of the most influential brands of Italian Radical Design. Created by visionary architects and artists such as Studio 65, Guido Drocco, Franco Mello, among others, the company emerged during the cultural revolution of the late 1960s with the goal of challenging traditional ideas of furniture. Their bold and playful designs blur the boundaries between art, design, and sculpture, transforming everyday objects into iconic design statements.

Today, Gufram is led by Charley Vezza, who acquired the company together with his mother Sandra in 2012. Under his direction, the brand has revitalized its historic Radical Design heritage while expanding through collaborations with contemporary artists, designers, and cultural institutions. Charley Vezza is known for preserving Gufram’s experimental spirit while bringing the brand to a new global audience.

Iconic pieces such as the BOCCA® sofa, PRATONE® lounge, and CACTUS® coat stand have become international design symbols and are included in major museum collections around the world. Combining radical creativity with exceptional Italian craftsmanship, Gufram continues to create unique collectible furniture using innovative materials such as soft polyurethane and the brand’s patented Guflac® finish.
