Multimedial präsentiert zeigen Filme die Fahrzeuge in Aktion, in einer begehbaren Audiobox dröhnen die Motoren, und in unserem Fahrsimulator – einem

echten Porsche 356 Cabrio – können Sie sich selbst auf der Suche nach der Ideallinie hinters Steuer setzen. Entdecken Sie auf drei weitläufigen Etagen eines historischen Fabrikgebäudes die Faszination Automobil, angefangen von unserer Dauerausstellung über Sonderausstellungen bis hin zur Galerie und dem Museumscafé Erlkönig, das zu einem Boxenstopp einlädt.

PROTOTYP Throwback Thursday: 77 years ago, in September 1949, Petermax Müller raced through the streets of Hamburg’s city park in his VW racing car he had built. 🏁

Almost six decades later, in September 2006, PROTOTYP brought that spirit back to life — returning to the city park at the Stadtpark-Revival with Petermax Müller’s race car.

Different times, same passion. ❤️

PROTOTYP Throwback Thursday: In 1949, the Solitude race drew huge crowds eager to experience the thrill of motorsport once again. After years of hardship, the roar of engines and the excitement of racing brought people together for a memorable day at the circuit. 🏁

Heinz-Ulrich Wieselmann took these photos of the overcrowded parking lot in the open field.

In 1973, Porsche prepared fifteen identical cars for the International Race of Champions (IROC), bringing together some of the world’s greatest racing drivers in an equal machinery format. The cars were based on the 911 Carrera 3.0 RS but featured the distinctive rear wing of the 911 RSR, a special front section for the oil cooler, and individual paint colors - in this case Sahara Beige - so that the otherwise identical cars could be more easily distinguished on color television broadcasts.

To this day, IROC is regarded as one of the most unusual and prestigious invitational racing series of its era.

One of these fascinating pieces of Porsche racing history is on display in our special exhibition, „RACEBORN - 75 Years of Porsche Motorsport“.

This Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (997) made its IAA debut in Frankfurt in 2009, showcasing Porsche’s uncompromising approach to customer racing. It was built for one thing: pure performance on the track.

And there’s still a chance to see this very special race car in person until September 1 at our special exhibition „RACEBORN - 75 Years of Porsche Motorsport“ 🏁

PROTOTYP Throwback Thursday: The Scimitar Hardtop Convertible was a bold vision of the future. Designed by industrial designer Brooks Stevens and built by Karosseriewerk Reutter in Stuttgart, it was unveiled at the 1959 Geneva Motor Show as one of three experimental Scimitar concepts commissioned by Olin Aluminum. Its innovative retractable metal roof and extensive use of aluminum made it a remarkable showcase of automotive design and engineering in the late 1950s.

Every legend has a beginning. This is the very first Porsche 919 Hybrid - the original rollout car, still wearing its distinctive camouflage livery. Long before the victories and championship titles, this prototype marked the first steps of a journey that would redefine Porsche’s return to the top of endurance racing. Today, it opens a new chapter in our special exhibition, RACEBORN - 75 Years of Porsche Motorsport 🏁
