Die Kunsthalle Münster widmet sich der Präsentation und Diskussion neuester Tendenzen der zeitgen?

Das Kulturamt der Stadt Münster bietet im Atelierhaus Speicher II variable Atelierplätze für freiberuflich arbeitende bildende Künstler:innen, die in Münster professionell arbeiten möchten. Die Ateliers sind zwischen 41 und 136 Quadratmeter groß und besitzen deckenhohe Fensterfronten sowie ein Bad und ein Spültisch. Der Mietpreis liegt bei 4,50 € pro Quadratmeter zzgl. Nebenkosten.

Das aktuelle Vergabeverfahren umfasst acht Ateliers mit jeweils unterschiedlicher Größe. Bewerbungen können über ein Onlineformular bis zum 30.11.2026. eingereicht werden. Zu finden ist das Formular auf der Website des Kulturamtes.

Über die Vergabe entscheidet eine vierköpfige Fachjury. Die Auswahl erfolgt unter Berücksichtigung der künstlerischen Qualität sowie der Repräsentation unterschiedlicher Kunstrichtungen, um eine künstlerische Vielfalt im Haus zu gewährleisten. Die Entscheidung über die Ateliervergabe muss vom Kulturausschuss der Stadt Münster bestätigt werden. Die Laufzeit der Mietverträge kann bis zu zehn Jahre betragen, wobei die Regelmietzeiten drei oder fünf Jahre betragen.

The City of Münster’s Cultural Affairs Office offers flexible studio spaces at the Speicher II studio complex for freelance visual artists who wish to work professionally in Münster. The studios range in size from 41 to 136 square meters and feature floor-to-ceiling windows, a bathroom, and a sink. The rent is €4.50 per square meter, plus utilities.

The current allocation process covers eight studios, each of varying sizes. Applications can be submitted via an online form by November 30, 2026. The online form can be found on the Kulturamt website.

A four-member expert jury will decide on the allocation. The selection will take into account artistic quality as well as the representation of different artistic movements to ensure artistic diversity within the building. The decision on studio allocation must be confirmed by the City of Münster’s Culture Committee. The term of the lease agreements can be up to ten years, with standard lease terms of three or five years.

Das Stipendienprogramm Residence NRW+, das seit 2020 der Kunsthalle Münster angegliedert ist, geht im Durchgang 2026/2027 in die sechste Runde. Für die nächsten zwölf Monate heißen wir die Künstler:innen Antonia Alessia Virginia Beeskow, Christi Knak Tschaikowskaja, Donja Nasseri und Peter Maria Volkhardt willkommen. Die ersten sechsmonatigen Stipendien für Kurator:innen gehen an Deiara Semeco Kouto und Kristina Miller. Während ihres Aufenthaltes realisieren die beiden Kurator:innen Ausstellungen im Museum Schloss Moyland in Bedburg-Hau und bei Linienstraße in Düsseldorf.

The Residence NRW+ scholarship programme for artists and curators has been affiliated with Kunsthalle Münster since 2020 and will enter its sixth round in 2026/2027. For the next twelve months we welcome the visual artists Antonia Alessia Virginia Beeskow, Christi Knak Tschaikowskaja, Donja Nasseri and Peter Maria Volkhardt . The first two six-months scholarships for curators go to Deiara Semeco Kouto and Kristina Miller . During their stay, they will realize exhibitions at Museum Schloss Moyland in Bedburg-Hau and at Linienstraße in Düsseldorf.

Am vergangenen Freitag haben wir unsere Ausstellung EURIDICE ZAITUNA KALA. DAYLIGHTING: ABER ES IST WASSER, DAS SPRICHT eröffnet, zu sehen bis zum 24. Januar 2027.

Die Ausstellung wurde gemeinsam mit La Criée centre d’art contemporain Rennes produziert. Und war zudem bei La Loge in Brüssel zu sehen.

Die Ausstellung wird vom Ministerium für Kultur und Wissenschaft des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen, die Kunststiftung NRW sowie das Büro für bildende Kunst des Institut français Deutschland und des französischen Ministeriums für Kultur gefördert.

Last Friday we opened our exhibition EURIDICE ZAITUNA KALA. DAYLIGHTING: ABER ES IST WASSER, DAS SPRICHT, which will be on view until 24 January 2027.

The exhibition is co-produced with La Criée centre d’art contemporain Rennes. It was shown at La Loge in Brussels earlier this year.

Am 10.10.2026 findet in der Ausstellung DAYLIGHTING: ABER ES IST DAS WASSER, DAS SPRICHT um 15:30 Uhr ein Gespräch zwischen der Künstlerin EURIDICE ZAITUNA KALA, SOPHIE KAPLAN, Direktorin von La Criée centre d’art contemporain, und MERLE RADTKE, Leiterin der Kunsthalle Münster, statt. Das Gespräch gibt einen tieferen Einblick in die Arbeit der Künstlerin sowie in die kontextuellen Veränderungen, die die Wanderausstellung und die Arbeiten an den vorherigen Etappen bei La Criée centre d’art contemporain in Rennes und bei La Loge in Brüssel durchlaufen haben.

Das Gespräch findet in englischer Sprache statt.

On the 10.10.2026 there will be a conversation between between EURIDICE ZAITUNA KALA, SOPHIE KAPLAN, director of La Criée centre d’art contemporain Rennes, and MERLE RADTKE, director of the Kunsthalle Münster inside the exhibition DAYLIGHTING: ABER ES IST DAS WASSER, DAS SPRICHT. The conversation will provide a deeper insight into the artist’s work as well as the development of the exhibition and its‘ different stages at La Criée centre d’art contemporain in Rennes and at La Loge in Brussels.

Im Rahmen des KLANGZEIT__ #13 Festivals findet in Kooperation mit der Kunsthalle Münster eine 30-stündige Aufführung von ERIC SATIES Vexations in der Dominikanerkirche in Münster statt. Die Aufführung wird von mehr als 30 Pianist:innen aus Münster und ganz Nordrhein-Westfalen realisiert. Sie beginnt am Samstag, 10.10.2026 um 11:00 Uhr und endet am Sonntag, 11.10.2026 um 17:00 Uhr, der Eintritt ist frei und die Dominikanerkirche die gesamte Nacht geöffnet.

KLANGZEIT ist das biennal stattfindende Festival für Neue Musik in Münster. In einer Zeit, in der Grenzen Hochkonjunktur haben, möchte die KLANGZEIT_ _ #13 mit dem Thema BRIDGES Verbindungen schaffen: Verbindungen zwischen musikalischen und künstlerischen Disziplinen und Traditionen, zwischen Kontinenten, zwischen Publikum und Performer:innen, zwischen Konzertsaal und Stadtraum. Durch die Kooperation mit der Kunsthalle Münster kann dieses außergewöhnliche Werk in Dialog mit Rauminstallation Zwei Graue Doppelspiegel für ein Pendel von GERHARD RICHTER in der Dominikanerkirche treten.

As part of the KLANGZEIT_ _ #13 Festival, a 30-hour performance of ERIC SATIE’S Vexations will take place at the Dominikanerkirche in Münster in cooperation with the Kunsthalle Münster. The performance will feature more than 30 pianists from Münster and throughout North Rhine-Westphalia. It begins on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. and ends on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.; admission is free and the Domenikanerkirche will be open during the whole night.

KLANGZEIT is the biennial festival for new music in Münster. At a time when borders are more prominent than ever, KLANGZEIT_ _ #13 aims to forge connections under the theme “BRIDGES”: connections between musical and artistic disciplines and traditions, between continents, between audiences and performers, and between the concert hall and urban space. Through this collaboration with the Kunsthalle Münster, this extraordinary work enters into a dialogue with the installation Two Gray Double Mirrors for a Pendulum by GERHARD RICHTER in the Dominican Church.

Mehr als 40 Meter ragt JORGE PARDOS Skulptur PIER (1997) Ufer des Aasees hinaus auf das Wasser. Pardo arbeitet häufig an den Grenzbereichen von Skulptur, Architektur und Design. Auch in dieser Arbeit schafft der lange Holzsteg eine Verbindung zwischen kreativer Gestaltung und Benutzbarkeit. Seine schlichte Gestaltung erinnert an japanische Gartenarchitektur und bietet Unterhaltung sowie einen Ort zum Nachdenken und Innehalten.

Realisiert im Rahmen der Skulptur Projekte 1997, seitdem Teil der Sammlung der Stadt Münster.

JORGE PARDO’s sculpture PIER (1997) extends more than 40 meters over the water from the shore of the Aasee. Pardo often works at the intersection of sculpture, architecture, and design. In this work as well, the long wooden pier bridges the gap between creative design and functionality. Its simple design is reminiscent of Japanese garden architecture and offers both entertainment and a place for reflection and contemplation.

Realized for Skulptur Projekte 1997, since then in the collection of the City of Münster.
