Last Tuesday, Henrik Zipsane, director of the European Museum Academy, and Ann Nicholls, EMA Co-ordinator, visited the State Archaeological Museum in Munich. Our museum is nominated for the , the European prize for innovative museums in the world of contemporary history, industry and science.
It was a special moment for us having the jurors here in our building that has reopened only in 2024. The State Archaeological Collection is one of the central and largest European archaeological collections. It collects, preserves and makes accessible archaeological finds that are owned by the Bavarian state.
The collections cover the material culture of all epochs of European pre- and protohistory, the Middle Ages and modern times from the Stone Age to the recent past.
