Stop by and visit our US Marketing Manager, Ed Mingo, at the AVS Exhibition!

Ed joined the PIRASTRO team in 2013, and has over 30 years of experience in the music industry.

He regularly travels across the USA and Canada, sharing his expertise and passion by giving string lectures at luthier workshops, colleges, and music schools.

If you'd like to meet him, he regularly attends a variety of music exhibitions and conventions, including next week's AVS Festival, as well as other events such as the American String Teachers Association, Violin Society of America, and International Society of Bassists.

The American Viola Society Festival runs from June 3rd to June 6th. We're looking forward to seeing you there!

The tour of the Capitol Symphonie Orchester just flew by, and after a wonderful journey throughout China, the orchestra is now back in Germany.
They played a successful final concert at the Wuhan Concert Hall, where the musicians and conductor Anna Skryleva gave it their all once again.

With thunderous applause, the audience sent the orchestra a wonderful farewell. The musicians enjoyed taking photos with the audience and meeting everyone afterwards, with the stunning Yellow Crane Pagoda, which the musicians had previously visited, in the background.

The Capitol Symphonie Orchestra says 'Zai Jian' and thanks the audiences for this wonderful time in China.

Die Tournee des Capitol Symphonie Orchesters verging wie im Flug, und nach einer wunderbaren Reise durch ganz China ist das Orchester nun wieder in Deutschland.
Sie gaben ein erfolgreiches Abschlusskonzert in der Wuhan Concert Hall, wo die Musiker:innen und die Dirigentin Anna Skryleva noch einmal alles gaben.

Mit tosendem Applaus bereitete das Publikum dem Orchester einen wunderbaren Abschied. Die Musiker:innen freuten sich, Fotos mit dem Publikum zu machen, vor dem Hintergrund der atemberaubenden Gelben Kranichpagode, die die Musiker:innen zuvor besucht hatten.

Das Capitol Symphonie Orchestra sagt „Zai Jian“ und dankt dem Publikum für diese wundervolle Zeit in China.

The past few days have been a whirlwind for the Capitol Symphonie Orchester, traveling by bus and plane through a fast-paced itinerary of performances in Hangzhou, Quzhou, Cixi, and Changsha.

While the music remained at the heart of the journey, the extraordinary architecture of China's concert halls has become a focal point of the experience. From the Hangzhou Linping Grand Theatre, which rises like a cliff, to the Cixi Grand Theater, designed to honor the city’s historic 'river spirit', and the Changsha Concert Hall, where the very walls tell a story: its facade features a pattern based on the famous song 'Water and Cloud in Xiaoxiang.'

Die letzten Tage vergingen für das Capitol Symphonie Orchester wie im Flug: Mit Bus und Flugzeug legten sie große Strecken zurück und besuchten während ihrer Tournee die Metropolen Hangzhou, Quzhou, Cixi und Changsha für Ihre Konzerte.

Zwar stand die Musik nach wie vor im Mittelpunkt der Reise, doch die außergewöhnliche Architektur der chinesischen Konzerthallen ist zu einem besonderen Highlight dieser Erfahrung geworden. Vom Hangzhou Linping Grand Theatre, das wie eine Klippe emporragt, über das Cixi Grand Theater, das zu Ehren des historischen „Flussgeistes“ der Stadt entworfen wurde, bis hin zur Changsha Concert Hall, wo schon die Wände eine Geschichte erzählen: Ihre Fassade ziert ein Muster, das auf dem berühmten Lied „Wasser und Wolken in Xiaoxiang“ basiert.

The journey of the Capitol Symphonie Orchester continued with a flight into the breathtaking city of Xiamen (formerly Amoy).

The next day, while some of the musicians explored Gulang Yu Island, others headed to the Botanical Garden. They hiked up Yangtai Shan (Balcony Mountain) to see one of China’s most beautiful landscapes. The day came to an end in the Old Town, getting lost among the historic colonial buildings and the scent of traditional tea culture.

The venue for the concert was nothing short of spectacular. Located in the heart of Jimei New Town, the Xiamen Poly Theatre sits among a futuristic skyline and bold Neo-Chinese architecture, making for a truly one-of-a-kind performance experience.

Die Reise des Capitol Symphonie Orchesters setzte sich mit einem Flug in das atemberaubende Xiamen (ehemals Amoy) fort.

Am nächsten Tag erkundeten einige Musiker:innen die Insel Gulangyu, während andere den Botanischen Garten besuchten. Sie wanderten auf den Yangtai Shan (Balkonberg), um eine der schönsten Landschaften Chinas zu bewundern.
Der Tag klang in der Altstadt aus, wo man sich zwischen den historischen Kolonialgebäuden und dem Duft der traditionellen Teekultur verlieren konnte.

Der Veranstaltungsort für das Konzert war einfach spektakulär. Das Xiamen Poly Theatre liegt im Herzen von Jimei New Town, eingebettet in eine futuristische Skyline und kühne neo-chinesische Architektur, was für ein wahrhaft einzigartiges Konzerterlebnis sorgte.

Unsere heutige Hintergrundmusik ist der 4. Satz „Scène“ aus der Schwanensee-Suite von Tschaikowsky, gespielt auf der China-Tournee vom Capitol Symphonie Orchester.

We're back with an update from the Capitol Symphonie Orchester! Their first concert at the Suzhou Poly Grand Theatre was a great success.

After a three-hour rehearsal in the morning, the concert that evening went very well. The audience was highly receptive and encouraging, especially during Sven Helbig's "Urban Perfume" from the “Pocket Symphonies” as well as the encore "Jasmine Flowers", a Chinese folk song that inevitably sparked a wave of excitement in the hall.

After the performance, the orchestra held a meet and greet with a group of Chinese students, who were all excited to take photos with conductor Anna Skryleva and solo cellist Anna-Lena Parenthaler. The group used a translation app to help them receive the audience's gratitude for the concert, which made for some really heartwarming moments.

Weiter geht es mit Auszügen aus dem Reisetagebucht des Capitol Symphonie Orchester! Ihr erstes Konzert im Poly Grand Theatre von Suzhou war ein voller Erfolg.

Nach einer dreistündigen Probe am Morgen verlief das Abendkonzert hervorragend. Das Publikum war sehr aufgeschlossen und begeistert, insbesondere bei Sven Helbigs „Urban Perfume“ aus den „Pocket Symphonies“ sowie der Zugabe „Jasmine Flowers“, einem chinesischen Volkslied, das im Saal für Begeisterung sorgte.

Im Anschluss an die Aufführung gab es ein Meet & Greet mit einer Gruppe chinesischer Studenten, die sich freuten, Fotos mit Dirigentin Anna Skryleva und Cellistin Anna-Lena Parenthaler zu machen. Mithilfe einer Übersetzungs-App konnten die Dankesworte des Publikums für das Konzert übermittelt werden. Es waren wirklich herzerwärmende Momente.
