Nnenna Okore, geboren in Australien und aufgewachsen in Nigeria, zählt zu den bedeutendsten zeitgenössischen Künstlerinnen im Bereich der Faserkunst. Mit ihren komplexen Skulpturen und Installationen erforscht sie die Fragilität, Vergänglichkeit und Verbundenheit allen Lebens. Ihre Werke wurden international gezeigt, unter anderem im Museum of Art and Design in New York, im Museu Afro Brasil in São Paulo und im Cleveland Museum of Art. Heute lehrt sie als Professorin für Kunst an der North Park University in Chicago.
Born in Australia and raised in Nigeria, Nnenna Okore is internationally recognized for her intricate fiber-based sculptures and installations. Exploring themes of fragility, impermanence, and our connection to the natural world, her highly tactile works have been exhibited at institutions including the Museum of Art and Design in New York, Museu Afro Brasil in São Paulo, and the Cleveland Museum of Art. Today, she serves as Professor of Art and Head of Sculpture at North Park University in Chicago.
