S. Hostettler is born 1988 (Bern), he is a Swiss contemporary painter. He is currently studying Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig (HGB).

After completing an apprenticeship as a metalworker, he attended the Foundation Course in Design in Bern and subsequently graduated from the Graphic Design program at the School of Design in Biel.

Through his work, Hostettler seeks to express his personal vision and understanding of art. His paintings range from spontaneous experimentation to subtle social critique. His practice is driven by a fascination with the act of creation and an ongoing attempt to weave the spirit of the times into compelling visual narratives.

In his work, Hostettler combines elements of realism, cartoons, and illustration, using humor as a central tool to make complex and challenging themes more accessible.

Hostettler’s works move between figurative representation, comic-like elements, and influences from pop culture, beauty ideals, and media-shaped visual worlds. He is particularly interested in how familiar motifs can transform through painterly reinterpretation, allowing new meanings and visual spaces to emerge. I find inspiration in everyday visual culture, personal observations, and atmospheric moments.

Jaron Gyger (*1989, Switzerland) combines craftsmanship, sensitivity, and formal clarity in his painting. The canvas becomes a carrier of mental metabolic processes: His compositions are places where human existence reveals itself between longing and arrival. From his engagement with the canon of Western painting, Gyger draws values that guide his work. He works from the conviction that technical precision is the prerequisite for depth and a timeless visual language. In his most recent body of work, Penumbra, this attitude becomes palpable. The earlier scenes, marked by inner conflict and social alienation, give way to a quieter, more focused painting. It opens up to light, landscape, and faith.

Jacek Sroka
Painter, Graphic Artist and Draftsman
Born in 1957 in Kraków, Poland

Jacek Sroka studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, where he graduated in 1981 with a diploma from the etching studio of Professor Mieczysław Wejman. From 1981 to 1990, he worked as an assistant at the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. Between 2014 and 2018, he was a co-founder of the Printmaking Center in Nantong, China.

Sroka’s artistic practice is as multifaceted as life itself. His works combine socially critical themes with grotesque imagery, placing the human figure at the center of a tension between power, morality, and absurdity—interwoven with irony, symbolism, and a profound, often unsettling sense of humor.

Over the course of his career, Sroka has presented his paintings and prints in more than 120 solo exhibitions and several hundred group exhibitions worldwide. His works are held in numerous international museum collections

Kouta Sasai (b. 1979 Osaka) is a figurative painter who lives and works in Fukushima, Japan. Sasai is deeply inspired by the works of Anselm Kiefer and Andrew Wyeth. His technique draws on Western practices, most noticeable through his striking use of rich colours and expressive brushwork. In 2023, he was shortlisted for the Ruth Borchard Self Portrait Prize, and in 2024 he has exhibit in The European Museum of Modern Art (MEAN) in Barcelona.
