Seventeen years of Netanyahu's speeches at the UN, and the refrain remains the same.
The Israeli occupation is defending itself, peace is near, Iran is on the verge of acquiring the bomb, and Gaza is receiving sufficient food.
The realities that followed his speeches often put his claims to a completely different test.
At the UN, Netanyahu can change the narrative every year.
But he cannot rewrite what happened after each speech.

Episode from: 9/11 One Day In America. The bravery of first responders.
Over 400 emergency workers died on 9/11 at the World Trade Center, including 343 firefighters, 23 NYPD officers, 37 Port Authority police officers, 8 EMS paramedics/EMTs, and several other allied responders.
An estimated 1,600 to 1,800 firefighters were on the scene, while more than 91,000 rescue and recovery workers eventually deployed to the site.
The New York City Fire Department (FDNY) deployed more than 200 units-comprising roughly half of the entire department's citywide fleet. This historical response included 121 engine companies, 62 ladder companies, all 5 elite rescue units, and 6 squad units.
Officers from at least 10 different law enforcement agencies deployed to the scene. This included major responses from the New York City Police Department (NYPD), the Port Authority Police Department (PAPD),

During the September 11, 2001 attacks, NYPD helicopter crews flew near the burning World Trade Center towers as firefighters, police officers, and other emergency personnel worked to rescue people trapped inside. The helicopters provided an aerial view of the disaster and were involved in efforts to assess the conditions around the towers. In the midst of the smoke, fire, and collapsing structures, visibility was extremely difficult, limiting what the pilots could see from the air. One NYPD helicopter pilot from that day expressed the crew's willingness to help, saying, "If we coulda saw somebody there, we would've made a try." The statement conveys, in a restrained and matter-of-fact way, both the crew's willingness to help and the tragic reality that they could not see anyone they could reach.
The words "but... there was nobody up there." Just shatter my heart. Rest in peace to everyone who died that day. And to those that were trapped on the upper floors of the towers.
