Jean Baptiste GARABOEUF /Lacombe (1836-1886) Mirecourt . Although he is not very well known, he created extraordinary instruments that stand out for their beauty and sound. According to a certificate from Jean Jacques Raffin Paris, it was made around 1880.

Albert Caressa and Henri Française were the junior partners in the Gand & Bernadel firm, and on Gustave Bernadel’s retirement in 1901 they continued the firm as Caressa & FRANCAIS. This pictured cello dates from 1919 and has a typical decoration on the back.

Émile BOULANGEOT (1877-1944) Apprenticed under Emile Laurent in 1890.Worked for Gustav Bernadel in Paris and stayed with CARESSA & FRANCAIS when they succeeded Bernadel (1901 ) until 1909, then joined Paul Blanchard in Lyon, whose workshop he took over in 1913. This is one of his 28 Celli he made. Very fine work in good condition.
