In The Gallery is a contemporary art gallery in the centre of Palma de Mallorca and Copenhagen, dedicated to showcasing emerging and established artists working predominantly with camera-based art. While our main focus is on photography, In The Gallery occasionally widens its curatorial scope to include exhibitions by artists working in other media, particularly if the artwor

ks establish an aesthetic or conceptual connection to photography. While the gallery space in Dronningens Tværgade serves as our headquarters and showroom, In The Gallery is also very involved in the international art scene through annual participation in several major international art fairs. In addition to showcasing innovative art, we also host artist’s talks, and other interactions between artists and audience.

At In The Gallery - Art Gallery Palma and Copenhagen, “COLORS OF SUMMER” brings together nine new works by Danish photographer Jacob Gils, exploring light, movement and the passage of time through his distinctive multi-exposure technique.

Part of Gils’ ongoing Movement series, the works transform familiar places into shifting, atmospheric compositions. Iconic landscapes and urban scenes from Brooklyn, Palma and Paris appear suspended between a precise photographic moment and the memory of movement itself.

On view at In The Gallery Copenhagen through August 30.

Artist Lea Jessen sees the extraordinary in the ordinary, capturing it in images characterized by sharp composition and a refined sense of colour.

Her works often focus on details whose original contexts are not always readily revealed. With their focus on clean lines and abstract colour planes, these anonymous architectural fragments take on a minimalist aesthetic, making them reminiscent of the concrete art of the 1940s and 50s.

From the series Spirit of Mexico.

Beginning tomorrow, this work by Danish artist Jacob Gil will be on view as part of his solo exhibition in Copenhagen.

Spirit of Mexico is a significant artistic collaboration between Jacob Gil and the National Ballet of Mexico, Amalia Hernández. The series pays tribute to Mexico’s vibrant traditions, artistry, and enduring cultural spirit.
