This year we return to Paris Photo with a new project by Alba Yruela 🤍

Bringing together photographs made between 2019 and 2026, her work traces an intimate journey through discomfort, solitude, and the quiet forces that push toward transformation. Melancholy appears not as an endpoint, but as a territory to move through, until the weight begins to lift and something new becomes visible.

A site-specific photographic project about staying with difficulty, and finding within it the force to go on.

Congratulations to Julia Aurora Guzmán on winning the BHD Prize for her work 𝘏𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘻𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦 𝘖𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘦𝘯 (2026), which is now part of the Centro León collection and awards the Dominican-Spanish artist a residency at the Walter & Nicole Leblanc Foundation in Brussels.

The Higüero (Crescentia cujete) is a native tree of the Americas and has long been a fundamental material in both daily and ceremonial life. In this landscape-installation, Julia turns the higüero in an archetypal vessel of the center, associated with the womb, origin, and possibility.

Each vessel contains native matter from the Dominican Republic and is rooted with copper, a conductor of energetic fields. The four elements are arranged along a line within a logarithmic spiral, beginning with water, the origin of life, and ascending toward air, detached from the material realm. While navigating around it, we are unable to see what the higher gourds in the center contain, echoing our inability to predict the future.

The work unfolds through 19 metaphorical horizons, thresholds, and invitations to move between the known and the unknown, between presence and becoming. Each element marks a step in a natural transformation, ascending toward completion and transcendence.

On the last new moon, we opened our brand-new gallery in Brussels, responding to the universe’s wish for a Chiquita Room sprout to take root in the European capital. This video shows a brief glimpse of the first exhibition: ‘Once We Existed’, which opens the space with Pieter Laurens Mol (Breda, The Netherlands, 1946) and Laía Argüelles Folch (Zaragoza, Spain, 1986) on the passage of time, and which you can visit until 7 November.

Very last day today to visit us at 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐎𝐧𝐏𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐬, where we are showing a solo project by Pieter Laurens Mol (Breda, Netherlands, 1946), which explores the lives and careers of some of the great 20th-century artists, such as Piet Mondrian and Yves Klein, through an indirect and often ironic lens. Rather than paying direct homage, Mol examines how an artist’s reputation is built up over time, using coincidences in their biographies and in space and time as conceptual material.

Using a wide variety of techniques and materials, as is his custom (liquorice, citrus mould, his own body weight as a press), this time always on paper, the artist offers an ironic yet affectionate take on some of his favourite influences and predecessors.

Today marks the start of 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐎𝐧𝐏𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐬, where we are presenting a solo project by Pieter Laurens Mol

The curatorial principle for the booth explores the life and trajectory of artists and how Mol looks obliquely, often ironically, at the accepted reputation of some major twentieth-century artists like Piet Mondrian or Yves Klein. Rather than paying straightforward homage, he questions how artistic reputation itself gets built over time, using coincidences of biography, time and place as conceptual material.

This oblique gaze quietly disturbs the statu quo of what we think we know about these figures, while Mol, as an artist, looks sideways at the lives and legacies of his predecessors, with precision, sense of humor, and genuine affection.

Be welcome to visit us at Tour & Taxis until Sunday 4 October!
