Kubo Beltza MAG es un proyecto de arte público desarrollado por Pau Figueres, que se centra en la habilitación de un espacio expositivo móvil, como reflexión sobre la idoneidad de los espacios de exhibición del arte contemporáneo. El proyecto propone la movilidad como el camino para expandir los espacios expositivos y llevar el arte contemporáneo más allá de los límites del cubo blanco, acercándol
o tanto al público experimentado como a públicos más alternativos. El proyecto es la metáfora de una situación precaria que pretende consolidarse como espacio artístico en un guiño a la idea de artista ambulante. El espacio móvil se plantea como una mirada crítica a una problemática genereada por el crecimiento incontrolado del turismo, que azota ciudades y pueblos de la Costa Vasca convirtiéndolas en zonas menos sostenibles, menos habitables y poco accesibles económicamente. Kubo Beltza MAG is a public art project designed by Pau Figueres that focuses on the suitability of contemporary art spaces. Considering the necessity for bringing art to everyone, mobility is a way to expand the art exhibition space and take contemporary art beyond the limits of the White Cube. The project is the metaphore of an unstable situation, looking forward to stablish as an art space, dignifying and giving a fresh perperctive to the idea of the itinerant artist. The space itself is engaged with the latest uncontroled tourism growth issues that some of the cities in the coast of the Basque Country are coping with in recent times.
