Apo Kidlat Tahimik's press conference before the formal opening where he emphasized about the 1887 Madrid Exposition which is also the highlight of the said exhibit. The 1887 Expo was supposed to be for exotic items but humans including Igorots were also brought from the Phils.

Last July 2017 we, BIBAAK MADRID, were able to visit the 130th Anniversary of the 1887 Madrid Exposition at the National Anthropological Museum in which objects/photo exhibition aimed to offer a glimpse of a world that is far-removed from modern thinking. We were also accomodated by one of the organizers.

Make your day memorable! So before or after visiting Kidlat Tahimik's exhibit at the Palacio de Cristal (free entrance), you can also drop by at the Anthropological Museum near Retiro Park/Atocha metro-renfe. The 1887 artefacts (gongs, solibao's, wood carvings etc) can be seen all-year round at the ground floor. 1st and 2nd floor displays are from other countries. Free entrance.

Few nights left before the opening of the exhibit "Magellan, Marilyn, Mickey & Fr. Damaso: 500 Years of Conquistador Rockstar", by Apo Kidlat Tahimik and the team (Kidlat de Guia & the Artists/Sculptors Santos Bayucca, Christopher Atiwon, Randy Gawwi, Jason Tagutagu, Jun Ritumalta, Michael Palomar) and so they just had a little fun break with us. After pinikpikan, we simply enjoyed the beats of the gongs.

Apo ⚡ Kidlat Tahimik (Philippine National Artist for Film) is in Madrid, Spain together with his six Artists/Sculptors (4 are from Ifugao, 1 from Dumaguete and 1 from Pangasinan, all residing in Baguio City). They will have an exhibit at the Palacio de Cristal, Retiro Park which will start by Oct. 28 until March 6, 2022. The spectacular exhibit is organized by Museo Reina Sofia in participation with the Philippine Embassy in Spain🇪🇦🇵🇭.

In this video, the team just started to assemble the amazing artworks at the Palacio de Cristal. We will be posting more updates soon.
