It was great to visit .noe back in March and taste the 2023s (and a few long elevage 2022s). A few new plots have been leased or acquired in the four years since we have been working together and the wines show great energy and elegance all with zero additions.

We have the pleasure of hosting Sébastien Chamard to present his solo exhibition and will introduce us to the Reg’Art association of deaf artists (a French sign language translator will be present on the evening).

« Ma langue, c’est dessin ! »

Sébastien Chamard is a deaf artist who has been passionate about art since childhood. Nurtured by a rich visual universe passed on by his father, who is also deaf and an art collector, he sees drawing as a language in its own right, as natural to him as sign language.

Reg’ Art Association:

With his partner, Sandrine Herman, he forms a committed artistic duo. Together, they combine visual expression, theatre, cultural transmission and accessibility. Their collaboration bears witness commitment to an inclusive society and the promotion of deaf culture. In 2005, he co-founded the Reg’ Art association to promote accessible visual arts and the emergence of a deaf art scene.

A singular artist, Sébastien depicts visual stories on canvas, taking his inspiration from sign language and using bold, expressive colours. His influences include Vincent Van Gogh, David Hockney, Nina Childress and Keith Haring.

Artistic approach:

“Ever since I was a child, I’ve been developing a visual universe
deeply inspired by silence, nature, the imaginary world and my visual and tactile perceptions. My works are born from this inner dialogue, where silence becomes colour and feelings take shape.”

The 2023s from .are.makalie have arrived. Max and Karoline continue to produce Spatburgunder of the highest quality, not to mention their Chardonnay and Weißburgunder. Just near the Black Forest, close to the French and Swiss borders, tiny amounts of wine made with great care for their environment.
