Liberty, fut ainsi une autre odyssée visuelle qui mena des montagnes retranchées de la Jamaïque du XVIIe siècle, jusqu’à la naissance du premier mouvement syndical, dans les années 1930, organisé par les cheminots du Dakar-Niger, chemin de fer colonial par lequel s’opérait le pillage des ressources naturelles et du patrimoine historique de l’ouest du continent.
« Je prêtai mon visage à tous ces résistants, marcheurs anonymes derrière Martin Luther King sur le pont de Selma, durant la lutte pour les droits civiques aux Etats-Unis. Cette fois-ci, je trouvais grâce à mon amie Khadija, le moyen de rendre hommage aux femmes noires qui militèrent autant que les hommes, pour restaurer une dignité bafouée par l’oppression, le colonialisme, l’apartheid, le racisme primaire et institutionnalisé. »

Liberty, was another visual odyssey which led me from the terraced mountains of 17th-century Jamaica to the birth of the first syndicalist movement, in the 1930s, organized by the
railroad workers of the Dakar–Niger Railway, a colonial railroad enabling the pillage of West Africa’s natural resources and historical heritage.
« I lent my face to all these figures of the resistance, from the anonymous marchers behind Martin Luther King on the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma during the U.S. civil rights. This time, I found, thanks to my friend Khadija, a way of paying homage to the Black women who fought, as well as men, to restore a dignity outraged by oppression, colonialism, apartheid, and primary and institutionalized racism.
