ONLY TWO WEEKS LEFT TO ENTER THE INAUGURAL MIRACLAIR WEALTH ART PRIZE

Entries close 1 October 2026, for the opportunity to win a two week residency at NG Art Creative Residency in Provence in 2027.

One fabulous artist will join us at the Moulin de Gréoux, with time to develop their practice, experiment, exchange ideas and become part of the creative life of the residency.

Set within the tiny historic hamlet of Gréoux, just outside Maussane les Alpilles, our home is a 17th century olive mill, and its history is very much part of the life we share here.

Beneath its beautiful vaulted arches, the original stone olive press and basins remain intact, connecting us to generations who lived and worked here before us.

The story surrounding us reaches back even further. The Roman Via Aurelia, linking Arles with Aix-en-Provence, passed through Maussane and runs adjacent to the Moulin.

Water was a lifeline along these ancient routes, as it is for us today. Our own well, fed by the underground water source, provides the wonderfully fresh water we drink every day.

People have travelled through this landscape for centuries.

Our multidisciplinary artists now make their own journey here from across the world, bringing different cultures, ideas and ways of seeing.

They live and work alongside one another, drawing inspiration from the landscape, from each other and from the rhythm of life here, allowing new ideas and directions to unfold in their practice.

Hanna-Maija Pääkkönen described arriving at the Moulin as “like transferring to another time,” surrounded by “history, incredible scenery and beautiful nature.”

For Karin Cagy, her residency was “nothing short of a fairytale,” while Sabrina Rosenheim described the Moulin as “a peaceful and historic oasis… but also a flourishing creative hub.”

In 2027, our prize winner will make that journey too, bringing their own ideas, energy and creativity to the continuing story of the Moulin.

WIN TWO WEEKS IN THE HEART OF PROVENCE

Imagine two weeks devoted to your art at the foot of the Alpilles, the magnificent limestone mountain range stretching some 30 kilometres across Provence, with olive groves, vineyards, wildflowers, herbs and walking trails just a short stroll from our door.

The inaugural MiraClair Wealth Art Prize 2026, generously funded by our sponsor MiraClair Wealth, offers one exceptional artist a complimentary two week residency at NG Art Creative.

Our home, Moulin de Gréoux, is a restored 17th century olive mill in Maussane, in a region rich in art, history and culture. Arles, Saint Rémy, Avignon and surrounding villages are within easy reach, with museums, galleries and Roman archaeological sites, amongst ancient olive groves and vineyards producing the wines of Provence, renowned for its magnificent rosé.

At the heart of the residency is our spacious 100m² studio, fully equipped with workstations and easels, overlooking free flowing gardens abundant with wildflowers, herbs, fig trees and grapevines.

There is quiet to ease into your practice, experiment and develop new ideas, balanced by an international community of artists, collaboration, cultural exchange and encouragement.

Our curated residency dinners celebrate the farm to table abundance of Provence, bringing artists together over local produce, wine, art, ideas and conversation.

I am absolutely thrilled to announce the launch of the MiraClair Wealth Art Prize 2026. What a wonderful opportunity this is!

One exceptional artist will win a complimentary two week creative residency with us here at NG Art Creative Residency, in our beautifully restored 17th century olive mill in Maussane, Provence, valued at €2,000.

MiraClair Wealth has been part of our world for more than five years, and I couldn’t be happier that Joanne Leach and her team are now extending that relationship by directly supporting an artist and their creative practice.

NG Art Creative Residency is on the lookout for a bright, motivated, and creative individual to join our team from March – July 2026 (with an opportunity for a second season).

This isn’t just an internship – it’s a chance to live and work in Provence, surrounded by artists from across the globe. You’ll be part of an inspiring creative community while gaining hands-on experience in:

🎨 Curating and planning a large-scale international exhibition
📣 Social media, PR, and behind-the-scenes residency admin
🌍 Networking with artists, curators, and arts professionals worldwide
🏡 Working in a restored 17th-century olive mill in Maussane-les-Alpilles, complete with studio access, delicious meals, and a swimming pool!

We’re excited to present ‘L’Espace Entre Deux’— ‘A Space In Between’, a landmark portraiture and figuration exhibition featuring 20 highly acclaimed UK artists, opening on Saturday 7 June at 6pm.

This showcase will take place in the extraordinary Église St Laurent, a Romanesque church-turned-gallery in Eygalières, Provence, South of France, just over the other side of the Alpilles mountains where our creative residency, Moulin de Gréoux, plays host to so many wonderfully talented creatives.

The exhibition will be opened by the highly esteemed Tabish Khan, the London Art Critic, a passionate advocate for contemporary art in the UK, and who is travelling to France specially to celebrate this momentous occasion with us.

Quite a few of the artists exhibiting have attended the residency with us in recent years, and some are soon to come.

So, it is with such pride and bubbling enthusiasm that I, along with my creative assistants, co-curator Gabriella Beaumont and Katie Dukovcic, present this exhibition — exploring themes of memory, identity, belonging, and transformation, inviting us into their intimate reflections — personal and universal, tender and bold, poetic and political.

Many of them are represented in prestigious international collections, museums, and galleries across the UK and overseas.

BEAMING BEAMS 🌠🎈

I’m having a nostalgic moment and wish to share this wonderful video showcasing the 2012 inaugural BEAMS Arts Festival, Sydney.

Whilst I was running NG Art Gallery in Sydney, I was also the founder & creative director of the yearly kaleidoscopic BEAMS arts
festival from 2012 to 2016; along with developing the inner City suburb of Chippendale into a go to gallery destination.

BEAMS was a one night only event in the laneways of Chippendale
presenting a profusion of artistic and creative talent, with galleries, artists, production houses, designers, academics and design students coming together to create a block party like no other.

A dizzying array of creative talent, performers, dancers, musicians, light installations, site specific installations and more, converged to present a cultural program that fast became an annual landmark for the City of Sydney.

In September 2016 the final BEAMS Arts festival took place with an enormous audience of 25,000 across 9 laneways. We went out with a bang!

It was the most amazing adventure and I’m so happy to have these memories and the videos to mark the occasion.

✨ We are thrilled to announce the winner of the NG Art Creative Residency and Galerie Heimat Art Prize ✨

After hours of deliberation by our esteemed selection panel: Tabish Khan, the London Art Critic; Professor Anita Taylor, artist, curator, educator and founding Director of the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize and Drawing Projects UK; and Director of Hauser & Wirth Somerset, Dea Vanagan, a decision was finally reached!

The prize has been awarded to Sabrina Rosenheim, a painter and animator from the UK, based in Milan, Italy.

Inspired by her Jewish heritage, Sabrina’s hand painted animation practice explores the finer nuances of assimilation through language. She navigates this conversation between traditional painting and ephemeral animation.

During her residency, Sabrina aims to create a series of small-scale paintings, drawing on the interplay of residents in the local area to build an animation project and continue researching her current line of inquiry and body of work ‘The Third Space”.

This work takes its name from Homi K. Bhabha’s theory of third space, “a postcolonial sociolinguistic theory of identity and community realised through language”.

We look forward to welcoming Sabrina in June this year, and we are excited for her to share with us the process behind her hand painted animations. This work will culminate in a solo exhibition at Galerie Heimat in July 2024.

Sabrina has been selected for a number of awards and prizes, including Royal Society of British Artists Rising Stars 2022 and shortlisted for the Rome Scholarship, and winner of the OMO Young Designers Award. She has exhibited internationally, in Milan and across the UK.

The standard of work submitted was excellent, and the artists below have been Highly Commended:
