« In the unique architecture of the Gehry Galleries, works by the visionary pioneer Lois Weinberger (*1947 in Stams, † 2020 in Vienna) and the contemporary sculptor Katinka Bock (*1976 in Frankfurt, lives in Paris) enter into an artistic dialogue. This is dedicated to processes that are inherent in nature and material as well as in architecture and space. While Weinberger dedicated his work to so-called « ruderal plants », supposed weeds, as well as cartographies and archaeological traces, Katinka Bock focuses her work on physical changes in materials, which she transforms into poetic installations. Both artists share an interest in natural processes, which are used artistically. The works selected for the exhibition, some of which were newly created, react to the museum architecture and literally grow beyond it into the outdoor space around the Marta. »

« 𝘼𝙗𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙖𝙗𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 ! explores the vitality of one of the foundational practices in modern and contemporary art through a series of simple yet essential questions: What remains of abstraction today? What forms does it take? How does it reinvent itself or unfold within contemporary artistic practice? Through a selection of works produced from the late twentieth century to the present day, Thierry Davila — art historian, museum curator, and curator of the exhibition — offers a critical and sensitive journey through a territory that is at once vast and elusive. Rather than fixing abstraction within a single definition — hence the plural form of the title, resonating like a multiplied echo — the exhibition approaches it as a shifting field shaped by diverse intentions, heterogeneous forms, and distant geographies. Here, abstraction may be rigorous or intuitive, painterly or sculptural, radical or decorative, critical or poetic. » Curated by Thierry Davila

Merci

Miss America is the name of an imagined boat, which one boards as soon as the gallery doors are crossed. It is also the title of a narrative, visualised by Tropa. Thus, the exhibition allegorically invokes the maritime world, and more specifically naufragium in its ancient (Roman) sense—that is, an accident or an uncontrolled fall. This word was used to refer both to shipwrecks and to chariot accidents in the Roman circus.

Francisco Tropa’s work is grounded in an imaginary world that is continually nourished by literature, philosophy, history, and conversation, notably through the exploration of themes such as vanitas and representations of the measurement of time.

The first part of this fiction, Miss America, was recently presented at the Palazzo De’ Toschi in Bologna, curated by Simone Menegoi. At Galerie Jocelyn Wolff in Paris, visitors are invited to discover two new chapters that complete the story of Miss America: Poor Captain and Shipwreck.

« The continuous cycle of construction and destruction, of usefulness and decay, has always been an integral part of building culture. Twelve national and international artists approach materials such as concrete, stone, wood, metal, and glass – materials that shape and structure our built environment—on a content and formal level. Based on the long-standing and in-depth research of artist and co-curator of the exhibition Andreas Fogarasi, the invited artists were selected on the basis of a shared interest. Through their artistic and research practices, they draw attention to those essential components of our environment that we often take for granted and pay little attention to, but which we often only consciously perceive when they are not functioning, are defective, or even ruined. »

Performance • 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘇 𝗚𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗺 in Milan!

“I’ve been following and collecting the work of Prinz Gholam for a long time. I had been searching for the right occasion to invite them to collaborate with a Milanese institution, but in the end it felt more meaningful to host them in the private space I share with Alan, inviting only friends and people I truly care about to experience this intimate, poetic performance. The result lingers in these images.”
Fabio Cherstich, Milan — April 2026

Hosted by Fabio Cherstich and Alan Prada, in collaboration with Galerie Jocelyn Wolff, Prinz Gholam presented their site-specific performance « You Never See Yourself » in the collectors’ apartment on April 16, 2026.

Almost the entire flat was the site for the performance for invited guests during the Milan Art Week and Paris Internationale Milano. The performance consisted out of a series of dissonant tableaux which were placed in unforeseen relationships with the artworks of the collection as well as close encounters with the viewers witnessing.
