“The Machine of Dreams and Nightmares is an interactive VR work that seeks to capture something of dream logic: the sense that a structure is present, yet not fully graspable, and more specifically the condition of the nightmare, in which one is both immersed and estranged. We wanted to create a psychoactive encounter with the Real, and with political horror, in a way that is not determined in advance by ideological framing, but instead unfolds through the viewer’s own psychic and perceptual responses. Each person experiences the work differently. The path through it is not fixed, but shaped by the viewer’s inner relation to self and world.”

The Machine of Dreams and Nightmares is an interactive VR work that draws the viewer into a dreamlike state in which multiple events unfold at once. As the viewer inadvertently becomes part of these events, they search for ways to move between and within them. For this work, Nir Harel and Miri Segal developed a new image-transmission technology that enables a vision-guided interactive experience. The work comprises two parallel films: one experienced with eyes open and the other with eyes closed. The viewer passes between them through their own acts of seeing, blinking, and closing their eyes, while certain scenes are shaped in real time by the viewer’s gaze.

We are pleased to share that Naama Tsabar’s work has recently been acquired by Centre Georges Pompidou and Hamburger Bahnhof - National Gallery for Contemporary Art.

Centre Pompidou has added Naama Tsabar’s Work on Felt (Variation 31) Graphite (2023) to its collection. This acquisition joins Stranger (2017), a video work already held by the institution, highlighting the ongoing presence of Tsabar’s work within the museum’s collection across different media.

Following her solo exhibition Estuaries at the museum in 2024, Hamburger Bahnhof acquired three works by Naama Tsabar—Work on Felt (Variation 22) Dark Blue (2023); Inversion #6 (2021); and Inversion #4 (2021). Inversion #4 will be included in the rehang of the collection, launching in the museum’s west wing on 12 June 2026 as part of ‘A Thousand Times Berlin’.

Congrats !

Dvir Gallery is delighted to share images from Aysha E Arar’s solo exhibition, ´Al Farisa’, at La Ferme du Buisson, on view from 15 March to 12 July 2026.

In collaboration with CC Strombeek in Belgium, La Ferme du Buisson presents ‘Al Farisa’, an exhibition that stages a female warrior on horseback (the Arabic title Al Farisa can be translated as “The Horsewoman”). This character, a projection of Aysha E Arar herself, symbolizes the transfiguration of her past and her search for emancipation. She echoes historical and mythical heroines who, disguised as men, took up arms to conquer their freedom. Al Farisa embodies a figure who refuses to conform to what is expected of her, in a constant quest for freedom as a woman and as a Palestinian living under occupation.
