Galerie Chenus Longhi CHENUS LONGHI is a contemporary art gallery founded in 2012 and based in Paris The Parisian gallery takes a turn and decides to propose a new dialectic.

CHENUS LONGHI (formerly Galerie Openspace) celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2022. With off-site exhibitions designed as tailor-made experiences for artists, visitors and collectors alike, the gallery continues its path of innovation, carrying with it a very fine expertise of the contemporary art scene and market. The gallery's secondary market department, (RE)COLLECTIONS, has been in full expansion for four years now. Its 240 m2 space located in the dynamic Lower Oberkampf district will soon house a shop dedicated to books and art editions as well as a showroom. Turned to the international scene, it supports the work of emerging and established artists and organizes beautiful scenographic exhibitions. It also offers support and real expertise to collectors. Its artistic line is open to both figurative and abstract artists, always giving pride of place to technique. [fr] D’un petit bonhomme dessinĂ© sur le chemin de l’école de son fils aux murs de Belleville, NEMO a fait de Paris un vĂ©ritable terrain de jeu !

Avec sa silhouette noire, son chapeau et son cĂ©lĂšbre ballon rouge, il a marquĂ© plusieurs gĂ©nĂ©rations de passants et laissĂ© une empreinte unique dans l’histoire de l’art urbain.

Aujourd’hui, on vous emmĂšne sur ses traces, Ă  travers quelques moments marquants de son parcours, de ses premiers pochoirs en 1982 jusqu’au travail menĂ© pour faire vivre sa mĂ©moire. 💙

[fr] Une Ă©tape importante dans le parcours d’Epsylon Point : deux de ses Ɠuvres historiques, « Les Marins GĂ©nois » et « Dragon in Love », rejoignent les collections du MusĂ©e national d’art moderne du Centre Pompidou.

Une belle reconnaissance qui vient cĂ©lĂ©brer prĂšs de 50 ans de crĂ©ation ! Et quelle joie de pouvoir prĂ©senter aujourd’hui son travail Ă  la galerie.

Une silhouette noire, un parapluie, un ballon rouge, quelques signes simples pour raconter des histoires

[EN] NEMO — “Keep Dreaming
 A Tribute to the Artist” is an exhibition conceived as a journey through Nemo’s poetic universe, an iconic figure of the Paris urban art scene who passed away too soon in 2021.
A black silhouette, an umbrella, a red balloon, a handful of simple symbols telling stories
 At times, it brings Banksy to mind — except Nemo was already bringing this visual poetry to the streets twenty years earlier.

[FR] Pionnier du pochoir et figure historique de l’art urbain, Epsylon Point expĂ©rimente dĂšs le dĂ©but des annĂ©es 1980 une nouvelle maniĂšre d’intervenir dans la rue. Le texte y apparaĂźt trĂšs tĂŽt, comme l’engagement qui traverse son travail, et dĂšs 1983, il pose le premier un pochoir en couleurs.

Dans sa peinture, figuration et abstraction se mĂȘlent dans des compositions saturĂ©es, oĂč le pochoir rencontre la peinture Ă  main levĂ©e et le texte.

Un langage trĂšs personnel, engagĂ© et libre, et une Ɠuvre historique que nous sommes particuliĂšrement fiers de pouvoir prĂ©senter aujourd’hui Ă  la galerie. Venez dĂ©couvrir l’exposition et plonger dans l’univers d’Epsylon Point !

[EN] A pioneer of stencil art and a historic figure of the urban art movement, Epsylon Point began experimenting with new ways of intervening in the streets in the early 1980s. Text appeared very early in his work, reflecting the social and political engagement that runs through his practice, and in 1983, he was the first to bring a full-colour stencil to the streets.

In his paintings, figuration and abstraction come together in saturated compositions, combining stencil, freehand painting and text.

A highly personal, engaged and free visual language, and a historic body of work that we are particularly proud to present at the gallery today. Come and discover the exhibition and step into Epsylon Point’s world!
