Presented by Arts AlUla and AFALULA, Under the Aegis of the Moon by artist Han Mengyun intertwined poetry, video, and movement to evoke the quiet majesty of the lunar cycle.
Curated by Arnaud Morand , the work was structured around a series of poems that echoed the slow rhythm of the AlUla palm groves, transforming the night into a space of reflection and revelation.
The performance, featuring Han Mengyun and Reem Ali Bakhyer, was rooted in Mengyun's research residency in AlUla. Drawing inspiration from the desert’s vastness, the piece foregrounded poetic expression as an act requiring presence and vulnerability.
The performative installation functioned as a cultivation of inner climates, tending to perception as a way of hosting new forms of knowing under the moon’s light.
