“Selected Moments”

A magnificent exhibition at London featuring works from the Shafik Gabr Collection (), which today comprises the world’s largest private collection of Orientalist paintings.

A dinner and speeches reflecting the spirit of this committed man, who has been collecting with passion for over 35 years, guided by a single theme: dialogue and understanding between peoples and cultures.

Thank you to Claude Piening, with whom we have built a genuine partnership between our exhibition at the Gallery, the Shafik Gabr exhibition and the Islamic Art auction week.

Léon Bonnat (1833–1922)

A striking example of Léon Bonnat’s fascination with the cultures of the Mediterranean world, The Barber of Suez reflects the artist’s travels in the Middle East and his engagement with Orientalist themes.
