Today we say goodbye to one of the great artists of our time.

David Hockney has died at the age of 88.

For more than six decades, Hockney reminded us that art could be bold, joyful, curious, and deeply personal. From the swimming pools of California to the Yorkshire landscape, from portraiture to photography to drawing on an iPad, he never stopped experimenting, never stopped looking, and never stopped making.

Perhaps his greatest gift was showing us that seeing is an active act, that the ordinary world, observed closely enough, can become extraordinary.

At The River Aude Artists Lab, we celebrate artists who remain curious, who continue to learn, and who dedicate themselves to the lifelong practice of making. Hockney embodied all of those things.

His work changed the way millions of people look at color, light, space, and everyday life.

Thank you, David Hockney, for the inspiration.

Wednesdays: Restorative Yoga
