💡 Future Learning Centers in the Changing World — AI for Science Museums!

CIMUSET and China Science and Technology Museum are pleased to announce the International Training Workshop on Capacity Building for Professionals of Science Centers and Museums, to be held on 17-21 September 2026, at China Science and Technology Museum (CSTM) in Beijing, China.

In this workshop, international and Chinese experts will share their experience and expertise on the above topics, also referring to CIMUSET strategies, such as digital accessibility, serving as a bridge, and towards a sustainable future.

The program will include case studies, group work, and expert guidance to AI integrated science education exhibition concepts and educational programs tailored for science museums.

Recruitment of 40 participants: 20 international participants; 20 Chinese participants.
An overall assessment of the applications will take into account the gender balance of the applicants as well as the range of types and sizes of museums and centers where the applicants work.

CIMUSET members will be given priority consideration!

Revealing the theme for International Museum Day 2026
“Museums Uniting a Divided World”

Museums today stand as powerful connectors: bridging cultures, communities, and generations. In an increasingly fragmented world, they serve as trusted spaces for dialogue, inclusion, and shared understanding.

As part of this global movement led by International Council of Museums, CIMUSET joins the international museum community in embracing the transformative role of museums in fostering unity and resilience.

Since 2020, International Museum Day has aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In 2026, the focus highlights:

🍀 SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities
🍀 SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
🍀 SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals

This year is particularly significant as we celebrate ICOM’s 80th Anniversary, marking decades of global collaboration and commitment to cultural heritage.
