‘Lle mae’r y Galon - Where the Heart is’

Rhan/Part 1: Y TIR/THE LAND. The Atrium space will be filled with the work of 5 painters, whose abstract work is inspired by the landscapes of Wales.

Rhan/Part 2: Y TŶ/THE HOUSE. A selection of paintings, ceramics, sculpture, textiles and photography, brought together to explore the domestic space.

In the Lle Llai / Mini-Space there will also be a showing (with popcorn!) of ‘Stranded in the Static’ a short film by Gork.

These exhibitions have been curated to complement a solo exhibition in Oriel 1:
‘The Same Boat: Conflict and Compassion in Prints by Marcelle Hanselaar’
Marcelle and Harry will be ‘in conversation’ during the pv at 3pm.

The opening event is from 2-4 pm on October 10th and all are welcome to come along to Gallery Gwyn in Aberaeron, to celebrate the language of art. Violins, Prosecco and posh nibbles as usual.

We feel honoured to be showcasing a selection of prints by Marcelle Hanselaar, who will be ‘in conversation’ with guest curator Dr. Harry Heuser during our opening event on Saturday 10th October from 2.00pm - 4.00pm.
This is an exceptional opportunity to encounter - first hand and up close - the work of this internationally renowned artist whose prints are in the collections of major institutions worldwide, The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York among them.
Save the date - this can’t be missed!

We are very excited to announce that Mohamed Hassan and Ben Lockett are joining forces here next month to lead a Film Photography workshop at Gallery Gwyn in Aberaeron.
They will kick off with a short artist talk (they are both rising stars in the world of photography) and all photographers are welcome regardless of experience.
The all-day session will include technical support, camera skills, lighting, focusing and more - and a Photowalk around Aberaeron, PLUS ideas for building a Photography Project, with integration into a Digital workflow.
This is a brilliant opportunity for learning and enjoying a lot in one day!
Places are limited to 12 and the cost is £50
SATURDAY OCTOBER 24th 10.30am - 4.00pm

A lovely day indeed with Sarah Medway revisiting her ‘All Adazzle’ solo show - all the way from London.

Sarah and her partner Michael have also been enjoying the fine hospitality Aberaeron has to offer - in the Feathers Hotel, Y Seler and the Harbourmaster PLUS the sea itself of course - for that essential summer paddle.

Finally, a cool ale for the curator in the summer shade.

‘All Adazzle’ runs for one more week, until August 1st - call in on your way to the nearby Eisteddfod!medway.art

‘All Adazzle’ - a new body of work by Sarah Medway, currently showing at Gallery Gwyn in Aberaeron.

The word ‘adazzle’ is used by the poet Gerald Manley Hopkins in his poem ‘Pied Beauty’ to describe dappled light that glimmers and glows.

Featured here are 3 of the 21 paintings which make up this delightful, uplifting and immersive exhibition.

These paintings can be purchased via the Own Art scheme which offers interest free loans repayable over 10 monthly instalments.

We work closely with Own Art in supporting Art Lovers to acquire the art they love!
