Close Knit- Wales and South Africa We meet fortnightly at Mardy Park Resource Centre (opposite the Crown and Sceptre pub). We meet fortnightly at Mardy Park on a Thursday night.

This group was originally set up as a 'yarn bombing' project linking Abergavenny and a rural community, Swayimane, in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa, hence the name. We haven't yarn bombed in quite a while but we all enjoy crafting (knitting, crochet or sewing) together so the group has continued. We ask for contributions to tea and coffee (£1?) and we share the cost of a tray bake made on site (usually about £1 each). We work on our own projects, support each other, and eat cake! New members are most welcome. Bring your own mug! If you scroll through our page, you can see images of 2014 in Linda Vista Gardens, 2015 in Abergavenny Castle and Museum, 2016 in both those sites as well as the meadow, site of the National Eisteddfod 2016 and 2018 similarly as part of the Abergavenny Festival of Arts. After the installations were taken down, we washed the blankets and handed them on to other organisations.
