A SPECIAL DAY. As many of you know, my wife Pauline has been in poor health for several years BUT today is the ninth anniversary of her liver transplant without which she would certainly have died in 2016. It is also the anniversary of the death of her father. Given the coincidence of the events, Pauline likes to think her Dad arranged the transplant for her. On this special day our thoughts are with the family of her donor (a 73 year old English woman) without whose courage and generosity she would not have survived. We also think of the good folk we met who were waiting for a liver but never received one. We remain forever grateful to the staff of the Liver unit in Belfast’s RVH and to the local medical teams who provide us with daily support. Just wanted to share this.
