It’s 💙

And we’re celebrating our 12 volunteers who dedicated more than 400 hours to cataloguing and interpreting the Jean Stone Collection - including Ellie (pictured). Their work is helping us to preserve and share Jean's work as a pioneer at the centre of the Paralympic Movement.

We’re also really delighted that 6 volunteers will be continuing with us, supporting our ongoing box listing and cataloguing across our collections. 📚

One volunteer shared: "I've never done anything like this before, but all the people I have met have been very friendly and clear in their instructions... It feels great to give back to the community, especially in a way that is very unique to the history of the area that I have grown up in".

Interested in volunteering with us? Find out more via the link in the comments.

And another big thank you to every volunteer who gives their time, passion and skills to support our work. 💛

This project was made possible through support from Archives Revealed - a collaborative funding programme between The National Archives, The National Lottery Heritage Fund, the Pilgrim Trust and the Wolfson Foundation.

What a day for our Paralympians!

🏅 Simon Lawson spearheaded the pack at mile 22, battling it out closely with Michael McCabe all the way to the line.
🏅 David Weir CBE finished on the podium in 3rd.
🏅 Richard Whitehead MBE finished first in his class, setting another new world record in his 106th marathon with a time of 2:40:25.

The atmosphere was incredible!

This World Autism Acceptance Month, our trainees have come together to create a short video sharing what it’s like to visit our Heritage Centre 💙

In this film, trainee Simon talks about his experience and how the Heritage Centre can be a calm, welcoming space to explore and learn, away from the hustle and bustle of the sports stadium, and without feeling rushed.

If you've visited the Heritage Centre, we'd love to hear how this compares to your experience and encourage you to share in the comments below.

We’re proud to offer an environment where everyone can feel comfortable and supported during their visit.

If you’d like to learn more about how we can support you, visit the link in our bio or head to: https://www.paralympicheritage.org.uk/planning-your-visit
You can also email us directly.

A big well done to our trainees for scripting, filming and editing the film.

• Disability, neurodiversity, or inclusion
• Heritage, education, or disability sport
• Finance, fundraising, or partnerships
• Leadership or governance
