There’s always a real buzz when new Dale Bissland paintings arrive at the gallery, and this latest delivery certainly didn’t disappoint.

David takes us through a wonderful new collection which has arrived following a remarkable run of recent sales, with several pieces already finding homes almost as quickly as they arrive.

Among the highlights is a beautifully atmospheric painting of Dale’s own studio, offering an intimate glimpse into the creative world behind the work. There’s also a striking new painting featuring deer which immediately stopped David in his tracks, alongside an exciting preview of a brand new Elie Beach scene currently being finished by Dale, a painting David already knows is going to cause a stir when it arrives.

As always with Dale’s work, there’s a richness of mood and storytelling running through the collection, each painting carrying its own quiet presence while unmistakably bearing his signature style.

A new collection of paintings by Michael Clark has just arrived, and they are as uplifting as ever.

Filmed from our Aberdeen viewing room, this latest selection forms part of our Spring Summer Show, with works moving between Ballater and Aberdeen as the exhibition evolves.

Michael’s work has a wonderful way of appearing simple, yet revealing layer upon layer the longer you look. From sunlit gardens and café tables to vibrant French markets and scenes from St Andrews, each painting carries its own quiet story.

There’s a real warmth to this collection, moments that feel familiar, joyful, and open to interpretation.

A new group of paintings by Jack Morrocco has just arrived.

Ten works in total, developed quietly in the studio, bringing together subjects long associated with his practice, from the stillness of the lily pond to the movement and structure of southern European life.

There is a real sense of assurance throughout, in the handling of light, colour and composition, that reflects the depth of his work today.

Three have already sold, and there has been early interest across the collection.

There’s something quietly enchanting about Jackie Henderson’s work…

A house perched on a hill that feels like it’s keeping a secret.
Delicate figures, lost in their own thoughts.
Birds carrying small tokens of love.
Simple moments that feel just slightly otherworldly.

We’ve just received 7 new paintings into the gallery, each one full of that gentle, dreamlike charm Jackie is so loved for. Soft colours, careful details, and a sense of calm that draws you in the longer you look.

Take a moment with the video and see which one speaks to you.

In this short film we take a closer look at several of the new pieces, including the lively Overview and the wonderfully cheeky A dog's life. As always with Joe’s work, there are stories hidden everywhere you look. From mysterious characters and curious details to the incredible range of colour, especially the beautiful blues and greens, each painting rewards a second and third glance.

One of the things we love about Joe’s paintings is the sense of fun and imagination. There is always something unexpected, whether it is a glass of wine beside a burger and a book, a mischievous dog, or a character that seems to have wandered in from another world.

Joe’s work is hugely popular and new paintings rarely stay available for long.

If a piece catches your eye please get in touch with the gallery.

In Edible Crab Study, David Smith RSW captures the character of this familiar coastal subject with remarkable clarity. Layered washes and carefully observed detail give the crab a strong presence against its rich blue ground, balancing precision with a sense of freshness and light.
