Wilderspin & National School Museum Thanks to nineteenth century pioneers like Samuel Wilderspin, infant schools are now a normal part of growing up in Britain and around the world.

The Wilderspin Story shows the challenges and personal sacrifices of this amazing character. Opening times:

Everyone is excited at Wilderspin & National School Museum for this Monday's episode of Channel Four's "Four in a Bed" featuring the Nelthorpe arms at South Ferriby.

Vicky and Anne Marie from The Nelthorpe Arms feature in Monday's episode, and join the other contenders from Boston, Gwynedd and Derbyshire for a trip to Historic Barton upon Humber for a taste of Victorian school life at the museum.

We'll be watching (5pm Channel Four) with fingers crossed for The Nelthorpe Arms and North Lincolnshire.

Free admission continues today between 10am and 3pm at the Wilderspin & National School Museum as part of Heritage Open Days in Barton.

Find out what makes the School "one of the most important schools in England" and what this mystery object has to do with it in one of our free guided tours. The Wilderspin Story & Victorian School tours last about 45 minutes and happen at 10.30am and 2pm.

Why not make a day of it in Historic Barton upon Humber and take in other Heritage Open Days events, including Open Day at St Peter's Church, Barton between 2pm and 4pm with Bell Ringing at 2pm.

It's FREE to visit, and we're open until 3pm, and open again tomorrow from 10am to 3pm.
