Baysgarth House

Baysgarth House Baysgarth House is an 18th century Georgian mansion house. Entry is Free. The museum is closed CHAMP is a registered charity. New volunteers are always welcome!

Baysgarth House Museum has been run by the Community Heritage Arts and Media Project (CHAMP LTD) since 2004. The museum is not currently open to the public:

Baysgarth House is a Grade II* listed building, believed to date from c. 1731. The building has an adjacent grade II listed stable building believed to date from the early 19th Century, and an adjacent cottage believed to have been built for

servants. The main building houses Georgian and Victorian style rooms, as well as displays on town life in the 20th century and war time galleries. Local industrial and craft history are displayed in the stables and cottage

The museum is mainly staffed by volunteers who are responsible for opening the museum to the public and running exhibitions.
