Christmas is coming back to Basing House! 🎄 Join us on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November for over 35 stalls full of festive gifts, crafts and treats, with plenty more to keep you busy between browsing.

Meet a feathered friend for a photo and follow our bird-themed trail 🪶, warm up with hot food from Berro Kitchen, then settle into the café with a mulled w**e (or a tea, a coffee, a slice of cake, even an ice cream). Pop into the shop for festive goodies, and pick up greenery from the gardening stall to make your own wreath, or grab a ready-made one if you’d rather skip the crafting. 🌿

Come on Saturday and you’ll also catch our ECWS reenactors in period costume, showing how Christmas was celebrated in Tudor times.

History comes alive at Basing House!

Join us for our Civil War Re-enactment Weekend on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October, from 11am to 4pm each day.
Experience the sights, sounds and stories of the English Civil War as re-enactors bring the past to life with:
🔹 Battle displays
🔹 Musket fire demonstrations
🔹 Living history camps
🔹 Historical crafts and displays
🔹 Opportunities to meet soldiers and civilians from the period

Thank you to everyone who supported our Big Give campaign.

With your help, we raised over £13,000 through the campaign, unlocking vital match funding to help children and young people find inspiration, creativity and joy in the arts when they need it most. Since the campaign closed, further gifts and Gift Aid have taken the total to over £18,000, which is a wonderful result.

We are also grateful to the donor who provided match funding and believes deeply in this work, helping every pound given to go further. Together, this shared commitment will enhance local children and young people’s connection to their local museum or gallery and access to creative opportunities
