The Roper Gallery is a large contemporary exhibition space at Bath Artists’ Studios, right in the heart of Bath’s creative scene. Set within a working studio complex, it’s more than just a place to showcase your work - hiring here is a chance to connect with other artists, experiment with new concepts and engage with the public.

The Roper’s contemporary setting also makes it a brilliant backdrop for capturing high-quality shots of your work, perfect for portfolios or future promotion.

Our aim is an exciting, ever-changing programme of new work. We welcome applications from artists at every stage, from students and graduates to established names - with a particular commitment to championing emerging talent.

Fancy trying lino printing? Join Jess Sully for a 2.5-hour workshop at Bath Artists' Studios where you’ll learn how to design, carve and print your own design.

There are two dates to choose from:
📅 Thursday 15th October
📅 Saturday 17th October

Perfect for beginners, with all materials provided, including an apron, plus light refreshments.

A wonderful collection of drawings created by children during the free zine-making workshop at our Open Studios, led by Funky Art House - Childrens & Adult Art Workshops Bath City.

Funky Art House has been based at Bath Artists' Studios for almost 15 years, running creative art classes for children and young people. Their programme includes a wide range of after-school and holiday workshops, providing opportunities for local children to explore their creativity, meet others and enjoy making art together. Thanks so much to B&NES independent councillor Grant Johnson and former Cllr Pam Richards (on behalf of the Labour group) for coming along to our studios today to listen to the artists, tutors and trustees about the important role Bath Artists’ Studios plays in our city! Here they are voting on the children’s drawing competition which was exhibited by Funky Art House - Childrens & Adult Art Workshops Bath City. We’d love to welcome more councillors and local representatives to our studios to see first hand what happens in our vibrant artists’ community!

Today we had the opportunity to give Wera Hobhouse a tour of our vibrant creative hub, showcasing our vital community outreach programmes such as the and children’s classes delivered by Funky Art House - Childrens & Adult Art Workshops Bath City . As the largest creative community asset in Bath, our focus is firmly on the future. We are incredibly grateful for Wera’s stated passion for the arts and her kind offer to meet formally with our Board of Trustees as we look forward to securing a positive future and a permanent home for Bath Artists’ Studios.
