Scotland’s last remaining town gasworks will be open as a static exhibit on the 18th October to celebrate the Biggar Little Festival Big Day Out!

Open 1000 through to 1630, with FREE ENTRY!

As part of Biggar Little Festival 2026 we have some special activities for kids both young and old.

Help the Steam Crew find the 9 hidden flames around the site and solve the word jumble.

We also have a guided tours, lead by one of our volunteers in period dress.
Tour 1 - 1230 to 1400
Tour 2 - 1430 to 1600

Join our resident Victorian for a guided tour of Biggar Gasworks, Scotland’s last remaining town gasworks!

Organised as part of the Biggar Science Festival 2026 we have a special guided tour lead by one of our volunteers in period dress.

The Gasworks Museum will be open this weekend as a static exhibit to celebrate Biggar Science Festival 2026! With free entry!

Open Saturday 1000-1600 & Sunday 1200-1600 (last entry at 1530).

Learn about the town gas making process, tour the works at Biggar, Scotlands last remaining town gasworks.

Watch our newly remastered documentary taken at Milport gasworks, the last operated town gasworks in Britain in its final days before closure.

Say hello to one of our friendly volunteers and test their knowledge with any questions you may have.
