Looking back at KIND OF BLUE: Life drawing to live music 🌀⭐️ - Hosted by our studio member Elena Platt

🎹 A relaxing evening of jazzy tunes & immaculate vibes supported by Liverpool-based 5-piece band
✨ Blueprint ✨ .band

🎷 Attendees immersed themselves in the music and drew to their leisure, creating live portraits of the musicians, mark making drawings of the musical sounds or just sketching what they felt

COMMON THREAD take over next weekend by & 🐟🍅

Up-cycle a tired old garment with Lino printing!

Eat yo greens! 🥬 Veggies are the order of the day🌶️

We have created a whole range of Vegetable inspired Lino blocks for you to use to upcycle your garments.

Jeans, T-shirts, ties, shirts… bring what you like! (Non-patterned or plain fabrics work better). You can even grab a tote bag in the gallery to decorate and take home.

We will have sewing machines if you would like to sew and alter garments for the workshop only (for example: make a bag from old jeans or a shirt)

• Tickets 🔗 in bio or scan the QR code
• Cash donation on entry is also available
All printing materials and tuition is included in ticket price 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼

Light refreshments provided ☕️
Drop-in between 1-5pm on the day

Introducing our upcoming group exhibition happening mid-May in BIRCH Gallery.

We are super excited to have artists Gee Collins & William Lang back in the gallery after hosting their beautiful exhibition ‘SOMEHOW’ last July. Joining them are North Wales based artist Nick Davies and London based Artist Lucinda Purkis

Please join us in BIRCH Gallery for a group show of four distinct artists showing new and old work spanning painting, sculpture and text.

Explorations of form, colour, language and materiality. A collective poetic experiment, communally curated in the space.

COMING UP in May

Graculus will be occupying the gallery for one day only to present ‘100 Aprils’.

100 Aprils is a durational sound performance installation that will mutate throughout the day, taking over the gallery with evolving noise

The duo comprises of Richard Harding on classical guitar, looping & ambiences and Phil Hargreaves on saxes, flute & looping

This is a free to attend live sound installation
Drop-in any time from 11am - 3pm on 9th May

✍🏻🌀🎺 Up Next at BIRCH:
Kind of blue: Life drawing to live music

Joining us for the provision of jazzy tunes and immaculate vibes are local 4 piece band .band 🌀⭐️

Bring your sketchbook & materials, immerse yourself in the music and create what you feel. This event won’t be structured like a standard life drawing class, e.g. no directed exercises, so please feel free to draw / listen at your leisure!

There will be a variety of comfy spots, chairs & 2x shared tables with an optional collaborative drawing piece

MATERIALS: A limited selection of materials will be provided for the collab drawing, so it is recommended to bring your own materials as well.

This event is led by local artist & musician and BIRCH studio member Elena Platt 👋🏻
