🍁Do you know how we at the David Livingstone Centre know the season is changing?

🍂Not by the yellowing leaves falling off the trees … but by the autumn decor returning to Livingstone’s café!

Come visit the café for a cozy soup or one of our weekly specials and get ready for Autumn 2026!

Cozy season is upon us! We can’t wait to celebrate Halloween and all the other Autumn festivals with you!

Unfortunately, we have some bad news. More damage has been done to our Clyde Viewing Platform.

Our Gardening Team made efforts to secure the damage, but the issue has been exacerbated. Now the thick plastic has been broken, and almost all the wooden slat-panels have been forcibly removed.

As a matter of safety, we ask that everyone avoids this area due to the sharp edges of the damaged plastic sheet, and the steep cliff directly below.

As a matter of respect, we implore that no further damage is done to the property. We are in contact with the police regarding the individuals who have caused the damage.

We love being an accessible community space but actions like this threaten our ability to serve the community as it forces our limited resources to go towards unnecessary maintenance.

We encourage all local residents to regard the Centre as something of their own. The Centre is a collective community space to be shared and supported by everyone.

Please help us continue being here for this community!

Thank you,
the David Livingstone Team

Last week, we noticed that one of the perspex glass at the Clyde Viewing Platform had been severely damaged and objects in our Exploring Garden had been moved around, meaning someone had gone over the gate and entered.

Later on in the same week, another part of the fence had been completely damaged, we are devastated as we know many members of the community love to use the trails and the viewing platform. This area was built to ensure children can enjoy the river and wildlife too. Groups such as Forest Babies and Wee Explorers make great use of the space.

Please be cautious, especially your young people, around this area as it’s a dangerous spot as of now.

Our lovely Gardeners have secured it until we are able to have it fully repaired.

Thank you.
