ON THIS DAY - The Apple ][+ (II Plus) was launched by Apple Computer in 1979.
It served as an enhanced version of the original Apple II, featuring improved ROM-based Integer BASIC or Applesoft BASIC, and a standard 48 KB of RAM.

The Apple II series, including the ][+ and later the IIe, became one of the most successful computer lines in history, selling over 750,000 units and dominating the education market

Bridging mission-critical software with hobbyist passion.

From Alarm Systems to Lunar Orbits.

By day, Neil Fraser and Lena Ku build mission-critical alarm systems at New Voice in Zürich. In their spare time, they exhume the code of the past.

Their latest challenge? Programming the Apollo Guidance Computer. We know it could land a lunar module, but can it run a game? We're revisiting the 1969 tech stack to give Michael Collins the recreation NASA never provided.

Explore the intersection of history, hardware, and hobbyist archaeology at our upcoming event.

In Memoriam: Frank Land OBE (1928 – 2026)

We are deeply saddened to share that Frank Land OBE passed away peacefully on Saturday, 16 May 2026, at the age of 97, following a brief illness.

Frank was a pioneer of the LEO (Lyons Electronic Office)—the world’s first business computer—and a leading figure in the development of information systems. Throughout his distinguished career, he served as a professor at the London School of Economics (LSE) and was a longtime trustee of the LEO Computers Society until 2025.

His knowledge, generosity, and dedication to preserving computing heritage helped shape our community. He will be deeply missed.

We are delighted to announce that on Thursday 17 September 2026 Professor Avi Widgerson has agreed to present a public lecture. His topic will be Reading Alan Turing.

Synopsis: Turing did not write much, but his papers were a marvel of eloquence, and reveal his remarkable breadth of interests. More importantly, they contain prescient, revolutionary ideas which literally changed the world, several times over. In this talk I will describe some of these ideas and their impact.
