This October, step inside Bodmin Jail after dark for a Ghost Walk through one of the UK’s most haunted locations. Join our Paranormal Wardens to uncover chilling stories, reported sightings and unexplained encounters within the Jail’s historic walls.

You don’t have to be a paranormal enthusiast to join us. Just bring your curiosity and discover a different way to spend an October evening…

🎃 Halloween has arrived at Bodmin Jail.

The pumpkins have arrived, the gates are open, the haunted gallery has launched, and October has officially begun inside the UK's most haunted jail.

👻 The Haunted Gallery is now open, transforming part of your visit with strange stories, infamous hauntings and some of history’s most chilling unexplained encounters. It’s included with Jail Entry throughout October.

And from the 17th October, there’s even more to discover as our Trick or Treat Activity Trail takes over the Jail. Follow the trail, solve puzzles, complete games and challenges, and claim your prize at the end. 🍬

Both experiences are included with Jail Entry, alongside the Dark Walk and the rest of the historic prison, making October one of the best times of the year to visit.

Whether you’re bringing younger trick-or-treaters, older kids ready for something a little darker, or you simply love Halloween...

THE WITCH FILES: CASE 03
ANNE JEFFRIES

In 1645, Anne Jeffries was a young servant living in St Teath, Cornwall, when she disappeared. When she returned, she claimed she had been taken into another world by fairies.

Not the harmless, storybook creatures we might imagine today, but older and stranger beings rooted in Cornish folklore.

Anne later became associated with visions, healing and knowledge others believed she could not possess. People travelled to seek her help, but the same gifts that earned their trust also made her dangerous in the eyes of those with power.

She was arrested, detained and questioned. Her freedom was taken from her, but Anne refused to deny what she believed she had experienced.

Was she a witch, a healer or a woman whose story challenged the limits of what seventeenth-century society was prepared to accept?

Season of the Witch has now come to a close, but its stories have not disappeared. Parts of the exhibition continue into the Haunted Gallery, opening tomorrow at Bodmin Jail.

We cannot wait to welcome you this October.

An update about our Halloween fireworks 🎆

For the past few years, we’ve loved welcoming everyone into the Bodmin Jail courtyard to watch our annual Halloween fireworks display together. Seeing our community come together for this has always been a highlight for us, so we’re sorry to share that we won’t be holding the display this year.

Thank you to everyone who has joined us and made those evenings so special. We hope we can bring everyone together again next year

There’s still plenty happening at the Jail this Halloween. Our Trick or Treat activity trail will run on 31st October, with last entry at 5pm. If you’re visiting later in the day, our £13 Late Entry offer is available from 4-7pm.

We also have events throughout October, including our annual Halloween party, hosted by Jam and Meme this year. There are only a handful of party tickets left.

We hope to see you at the Jail this Halloween. 🧡
