Who is Caroline McKendrick-Gibson?
For one special evening at Bodmin Jail, we are joined by paranormal researcher Caroline McKendrick-Gibson for a deep dive into one of the most mysterious and misunderstood paranormal phenomena: poltergeists.
Caroline is a scientific paranormal investigator, internationally published writer, and podcast host whose work explores the paranormal through evidence, research, and critical thinking. Her investigations focus on understanding why these phenomena are reported and how they can sometimes be explained.
During this special event, Caroline will deliver a fascinating talk exploring:
👻 What actually defines a poltergeist
🧠 The science and psychology behind reported cases
🔎 How investigators test and sometimes disprove paranormal activity
📚 Famous cases and what we can learn from them
Caroline has written for international magazines, appeared across TV, radio, and podcasts, and contributed to projects with the BBC. She has also worked with production companies researching historic true crime and paranormal cases for documentaries and series.
A former executive member of the Association for the Scientific Study of Anomalous Phenomena, Caroline now hosts the Seriously Strange podcast for ASSAP and co-hosts The Unearthly Bureau. The show brings together experts and investigators from around the world to explore paranormal mysteries.
Her passion is ethical, evidence-based investigation. She focuses on carefully documenting history and data while helping the public understand unexplained experiences.
Following the talk, Caroline will also join our team, along with her husband Martin Gibson, for a special paranormal investigation inside the jail.
Whether you are a seasoned ghost hunter, a sceptic, or simply fascinated by the unexplained, this is a rare opportunity to explore the science behind the supernatural.
