We are excited to be collaborating with Bodmin Way on their Heritage Day in November. We are providing the materials for the art workshops at the Church.
Karen Howse and Lisa Cooper also run workshops and art trails for us at the Gallery and are very experienced and highly regarded. They both love working with beginners so these workshops are a must do for anyone who fancies giving sketching or watercolour

Join artist-wanderer Karen Howse for a hands-on MONOPRINTING WORKSHOP at Bodmin Gallery Creative Studio! Discover the magic of creating your own monoprint as you experiment with inks, rollers, drawing, masking and our new tabletop printing press.

🎨 WATERCOLOUR MADE EASY at our brand new Beginners & Refreshers Workshop with Lisa Cooper

Always fancied trying watercolour but not sure where to start? Or have you painted before and feel like you need a little refresher? Join Lisa Cooper at Bodmin Gallery for a relaxed, friendly morning discovering the wonderful world of watercolour.

You’ll explore the basics of working with watercolour, including washes, colour mixing, wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques, mark making, texture and more – with plenty of time to experiment and put what you learn into practice.

Absolutely no need to worry about creating the “perfect” painting! This workshop is all about having a go, learning useful techniques and building your confidence with a brush.

The money raised will help us continue growing and developing our creative community here in Bodmin.

One of the things we’re particularly excited about is launching our new Gallery Gatherings — regular themed get-togethers where people can meet, connect, share skills, support one another and explore how creativity can contribute to both wellbeing and income.

We’ll also be working with community groups to spread the creative love even further, helping us offer some fantastic workshops and creative opportunities to more people. 🎨🧵🖌️

This auction was about so much more than raising money. It was artists and makers supporting a creative community — and that community supporting them right back.

🧵 CREATE A COLOURFUL ROPE BOWL 🌈
Saturday 3 October | 10am–1pm | Bodmin Gallery

Spend a creative morning with Andrea Millington discovering how fabric, thread and colour can be transformed into your very own hand-stitched rope bowl.

In this relaxed, hands-on workshop, Andrea will guide you step by step through wrapping fabric around rope, joining and shaping your bowl with simple hand stitches, and using colour, texture and decorative stitching to make your piece completely unique.

It’s a wonderfully portable technique and a lovely way to use fabric scraps, recycle favourite fabrics and create something beautiful by hand.

✨ Perfect for beginners – no previous sewing experience needed
🧵 All tools and materials, drinks and nibbles provided
💡 Plus plenty of inspiration for future projects!

You’ll need to be able to independently thread a hand-sewing needle, and some hand and finger dexterity is required.

If you have a favourite piece of dressmaking or quilting-weight fabric you’d like to use, feel free to bring it along uncut. Please also bring glasses if you use them for close work and your own fabric scissors if preferred. Left-handed participants are encouraged to bring left-handed scissors as these are not available at the Gallery.

Please note: participants must be able to navigate stairs.
