ONLY ONE PLACE LEFT ON THIS PRINTMAKING WORKSHOP!! DONT MISS OUT!

Join artist-wanderer to experiment with printing. Using low-tech methods. Karen will help you to evoke special places or imagined landscapes in print. You will have a go at trace monotypes, mixing these with relief prints from plants and leaves and add small tetra pack details/animals/birds! This workshop is mostly without a press, so you can continue what you learn at home.

We recommend wearing old clothes and to bring an apron as it may get messy.

✨ *Echoes of Bodmin* ✨
*Where Bodmin’s past walks through the present*

Following the incredible success of our Flamm Festival exhibition, Bodmin Gallery & Creative Studio is excited to launch a new community exhibition celebrating this year’s Bodmin Riding & Heritage Festival.

We’re inviting artists to explore the spirit, stories and atmosphere of Bodmin’s historic Riding Festival — a tradition dating back to the 1400s, where the town’s history comes alive through costume, procession, folklore and celebration.

From ancient legends and forgotten tales to landscapes, heritage and imagination — we want to see your creative response to the echoes of Bodmin’s past.

🖌️ Open to artists aged 16+
🌟 Emerging and established artists welcome
❤️ A special fundraising community exhibition

HOW TO TAKE PART:

Learn printmaking and get inky!
Join artist-wanderer to experiment with printing. Using low-tech methods. Karen will help you to evoke special places or imagined landscapes in print. You will have a go at trace monotypes, mixing these with relief prints from plants and leaves and add small tetra pack details/animals/birds! This workshop is mostly without a press, so you can continue printmaking at home.

Attendees need to bring an apron and not wear best clothes as it may get messy. They are also welcome to bring in a picture of a place to use as a reference.

We’re excited that the Bodmin Riding & Heritage Festival returns this July — and we’re marking the occasion with a special exhibition: Echoes of Bodmin – where the past walks through the present.

We’re inviting hobbyist, emerging, and established artists (16+) to submit*one artwork (A4 or 30 × 20 cm) in any medium — from painting and photography to textiles, ceramics, sculpture, and more.

Theme inspiration includes*
• Local history & heritage
• Folklore, legend & myth
• Landscape & sense of place
• Bodmin’s medieval character & the Riding
• Memory, emotion & personal connection
• Imaginative or abstract interpretations

The Riding, dating back to the 1400s, brings Bodmin’s history to life through costume and tradition — and we’d love to see your creative response to these echoes of the past.

We are delighted to be hosting an Art Surgery, an exciting event being run by CAMP , a Contemporay Art network that organises joint exhibitions and meetings for artists.

The Art Surgery is free of charge and open to members of both CAMP () and CKA (). If spaces are available, prospective new CAMP or CKA members are also welcome to attend one free session as a ‘visitor’.

The event provides a supportive, peer-led space where artists of all backgrounds and experiences can share work and get constructive critical feedback, bring a provocation, raise questions or simply network and connect.

Weave your own wllow Catalan platter

Here is another great opportunity to learn the traditional craft of willow weaving as you create your own Catalan tension tray. These trays are traditionally used as food platters for bread, cheeses, fruit etc. They can also be used as trivets for hot pans and decorative pieces for the home.

Jasmine Fassenfelt will lead you step by step and keep it fun .In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore working with natural sustainably grown willow, practice key weaving techniques, and craft at least one beautiful, functional tray to take home.

Spaces are limited - so book early!
