We are open to the public on Wednesdays and Sundays, though not in steam. Our steaming days are listed on the web site and on this page. We offer private steaming days for pre-booked groups and parties. There is ample free parking and during our open days the admission is free. For further details please contact [email protected]. We would like to thank all the people who visited us during the Jubilee weekend, numbers were down but it is understandable due to the nationwide celebrations.
But if you are free on Wednesday 8th June the Ford Model T vintage car club are visiting us to see our engines in steam, they will be arriving approx 10-30am and leaving approx 1-30pm. There should be 60+ cars on view. All are welcome.

I would like to thank all our visitors who came to our end of year open days. Your generosity helped us absorb the triple increase of our gas price since or original supplier went bust in early December.

Well we are at the end of the year and we hope to have our listed steaming days on Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th December. That is unless there are any further legal covid-restrictions announced for the after-Christmas period requiring the closure of museums.
In line with government guidance, those who have been before will know that the museum is large (10,000 sq ft) with plenty of space to distance you from other visitors. The wearing of face coverings (unless exempt) will be mandatory.
Lets all take care and enjoy the visual pleasure of 31 engines all doing their stuff.

Well we have just had some pretty bad news. Our gas supplier has gone bust and we have been transferred to another supplier. Unfortunately our new supplier is charging us (at the moment) more than 3 times our original price per unit. We are determined to retain our free entry policy, but this makes us even more grateful for the donations our visitors give us. We also claim gift aid on your donations which helps considerably to overcome the running costs. We believe that our industrial heritage should be open to all and your generosity will help us continue to do that.

Its nearly time to get your steam fix this weekend, we are open Sat & Sun 30th and 31st, 10am till 4pm, usual free entry and free parking. 31 engines in steam. Kids come along in your Halloween costumes some of us will be in ours. It might be cold and wet outside.....but its warm and dry in the museum. Hope to see you all.
