Happy New Year to everyone from PATTest East Hants.

As per last year I have been invited to test exhibitors equipment at Staverton Funfair Model Show this coming Saturday (photo from Fair-Pix: Est. 2000 last year).
- If you would like your equipment tested please let me know. I recommend you do not plug in adaptors or extensions in yet and leave them for easy access for testing.
- If you already have valid labels on your equipment please carry on and plug your equipment but notify us that you are ready to go.
As I am exhibiting myself can I ask fellow modellers to allow me to complete my layout before I start the testing process myself. Thank you.

Would like to wish everyone a healthy and prosperous Christmas and all the best for 2025. I am now going into a two week break from carrying out PAT testing. I will continue to answer emails or PM's during the break.

The latest job was to PAT test these LED lights for the owner of this fairground penalty kick game which tours the South of England. The lights are directly powered from one 16A blue socket. I have an adaptor which allows me to test anything powered from these sockets, handy for those who attend shows & fetes.

Last Saturday morning while exhibiting at the Churchdown Fairground Show I tested various fellow exhibitors extension plugs, mains cables & mains operated equipment as requested in the conditions of hall hire for the organisers.
As a sidenote bookings for 2023 are also already being taken.

Recently was called out to PAT test communal items at a couple of student rented properties recently in Portsmouth. These photos illustrate that all items which are powered by mains require a test. Although I applied a sticker to the router I only test the DC power supply adaptor, I believe in applying stickers to visible areas to offer peace of mind to those who use the appliances. 👍👍

The COVID-19 situation as you would expect has had a huge impact on the hospitality industry, I have not had any work since March. Although the Government is announcing very soon plans to restart this industry albeit with restrictions I've been thinking about when to restart. As I only do this for spare time I've decided that I will not be resuming PAT Testing immediately, not until restrictions are allowed to be eased further. I hope Autumn at the earliest but I'm not committing myself to any timescale. Thank you for your understanding.
