Join in the party with our next WonderTots—a high-energy, feel-good family session where music, movement and play take over. Led by BoomChikkaBoom, expect dancefloor fillers, bouncing beats and plenty of chances to wiggle, jump, dance and spin.

Explore movement your own way with pom poms, bubbles, a snow machine and more—or head over to one of our Wonderlab chill-out zones whenever you feel like taking a break.

This Sunday (31 May), join us for a Relaxed Session at the National Science and Media Museum. From 15:00–17:00, we’ll be creating a calmer museum experience for visitors who prefer to explore with less noise and activity.

During the session, you can expect:
- Reduced sound levels across galleries
- More consistent lighting (lowered in some areas, increased in others)
- Quiet spaces available if you need a break
- Clearer signage and staff on hand to support your visit
- Sensory backpacks and ear defenders are available to borrow

Relaxed Sessions are open to everyone, and may be particularly helpful for neurodivergent visitors, visitors with sensory sensitivities, and anyone who would benefit from a quieter environment.

📍 National Science and Media Museum, Bradford
📅 Sunday 26 April, 3.00–5.00pm (repeats on the last Sunday of every month)
🎟️ Free to visit, booking recommended.

On this day 1922, actor Christopher Lee was born.

Known for playing infamous villains, including Saruman, Count Dooku and Francisco Scaramanga, Lee rose to fame in the 1950s and '60s for his roles in Hammer Horror films, most notably as Count Dracula, a role he would go on to play a total of 10 times.

During his time in Hammer films, Lee often worked with make-up artists Roy Ashton and Phil Leakey, who would bring creatures such as The Mummy and Frankenstein's Monster to life with their special effects make-up.

Below are the fangs created by Phil Leakey and worn by Lee in the original Hammer Dracula. There is also a note from Lee to Leakey which reads 'Phil, with all my most grateful thanks for all your heroically patient, brilliantly effective efforts on my behalf — and on my unfortunate face. From one sensitive creative artist to another, Christopher Lee'

Christopher Lee's fangs are on display in our Sound and Vision Galleries.
